Tony Clubb is an excellent player and I would pick him in preference to any of the lads Wigan signed from the Crusaders or the Props they brought through their Academy.
He has more aggression than many and he has got the ability to break the line and he can play in the backs but he does not instinctively look to play in a team mate and he can be a bit bamboozled by the likes of Chris Bridge when he is covering a wider area. He ran the length of the field against Wigan three or four years back.
In the past year he has had several knee injuries, which have partly been due to us rushing him back in the team and partly due to his weight I would suggest - once a man of 17 stone gets knee ligaments problems the chance of them reoccurring is always likely.
He has also annoyed some supporters by becoming Captain but then being quoted in the Press in a which would does not reflect what people would prefer to hear from a Captain, but which they would say themselves.
Lenagan is being very clever in the transfer market - taking six figure fees for his players.
If he takes our only England international and one of two England Knights internationals for nothing then it will be disappointing but not as much as when he sat on his shares for several years and nearly starved us to death.
Sarginson is not someone I am desperately sorry to lose; he has not developed his physique to a Super League standard and that is as much his responsibility as that of the club who nurtured him. He'll be playing for Leigh or someone similar next year.
