Rugby League World Cup 2013 is delighted to announce that the Manchester United Museum will stage an exhibition dedicated to international Rugby League, as Old Trafford prepares to stage the Rugby League World Cup Final.

The Old Trafford Museum and Stadium Tour draws hundreds of thousands of visitors from around the world every year, and throughout October guests will also be given an insight into the rich and varied international history of the 13-a-side code.

The exhibition will include fascinating artefacts from the sport’s past, a detailed history of the Rugby League World Cup and information about the teams competing at this autumn’s tournament.

Museum Supervisor Gerry McDonagh said: “As a huge Rugby League fan myself, I’m really pleased to be involved in the staging of a special Rugby League exhibition here at the Manchester United Museum and Tour Centre.

“We’re looking forward to celebrating the fact that the world’s greatest players will all be here on our doorstep.”

Rugby League World Cup 2013 PR & Communications Manager Martin Johnston said: “As we pass the 100 days to the final milestone, it is fitting that we are today able to announce this fantastic partnership with Old Trafford, the home of the Rugby League World Cup Final.

“The Old Trafford Museum and Stadium Tour is a hugely popular destination for football fans and tourists from around the world, and this provides a great opportunity for our sport to showcase its rich international history to new audiences.

“We are also certain that Rugby League supporters will visit in their numbers, before returning to the stadium for the Rugby League World Cup Final on November 30.”

The Museum will be open every day between 9.30hrs and 17.00hrs (except football match-days) and we have a special offer for all Rugby fans wherever they are from.

Up until 29th November, we are offering a 20% discount on our normal admission price on production of ANY RLWC match ticket.

On the 30th November – the day of the Final – the Museum will be open from 8.00am until 11.00am and match ticket-holders will get a 50% discount on our normal prices.

Many people complain about the exposure rugby league gets, but at Old Trafford's museum, the exposure couldn't be better. The MUFC museum welcomes 25,000 paying visitors from around the world every month. For many, this will be their first taste of the greatest game.

Not only that, but the museum's team have really worked hard to make this exhibition superb, and I hope they are royally thanked by all rugby league fans making an effort to go and see this whilst at Old Trafford for the finals.

Rugby league heritage at one of the world's most-visited, high profile sports museums - it really doesn't get much better than that.
