This is such a good article!! well written and too the point, got to say that the premier sports coverage of the world cup from the commentary point of view was far superior to what sky spew out each week.

Really???

I thought the Beeb's coverage was appalling!! Though I was reasonably impressed with Premier Sports.

Andrew Voss is entertaining, but then I quite enjoy Bazza and Tezza as well. I'm not sure I'd have said Daryl Halligan was knowledgeable (in regard to who was playing, rather than the game) - although that added amusement as well. In general Premier Sports coverage is better to watch than Sky (Eddie & Stevo), but it's also better than the NRL commentary. Maybe just more enthusiasm, and it's a bit of a lark.
I think it's a bit unfair on Sky, who appear to be trying different stuff to fill the gaps in the programme that aren't the actual game - I don't like most of the information presentation by Phil Clarke, but some of the information is alright, and you've got to do something before and during half time. Interviewing players as they leave the field isn't it.
I'd like to see more analysis of play, rather than stats, and not so much reviewing tries, kicks etc., but more how they got there. But that's just me.

Ok I should have been more targeted, BBC coverage of rl is pretty poor I was referring to the comparisons of sky and premier sport commentary. Eddie and Steve as a comedy duo can be quite fun, the constant snogging off of the match officials by them is pretty wearing tho and pointless. The inclusion of Cummings should have Bern put to better use, as in explaining decisions rather than the "no that was wrong" approach.
Vossy got the mix right, and even enjoyed Brian nobles input
