Now Hemel are in the Championship One playoffs, can we dual reg some players for our southern neighbours? Presume Kieran at least can play again if his contract lasts the whole season?

Two southern teams in the championship next year would be interesting.

No new DR's permitted. I don't think Kieran will be eligible, I suspect he didn't play enough games by the cut off date.

Talking to Hemel fans on Saturday they were in unanimous agreement that promotion would be disaster for them as a club and that they weren't ready to take such a step up yet. Must admit I know where they are coming from. Last season I had my fingers crossed for a glorious failure by Oxford in the playoffs fir exactly the same reason.

DR players have to have played 3 games. See the current problems in the championship.

Skokars in the same position last season, promotion would have been a disaster. The southern champ 1 teams are years away from being able to compete at a higher level.

Totally agree.

To be honest the priority for Oxford, Hemel and Gloucestershire is to prove themselves as viable long term members of level three. The crowd levels at all three are worrying tbh and much work needs to be done off the pitch. Get that right and they can start to look at possible level two membership in the future.

If any of them make the jump ny money would be on Hemel, they seem to be the only one of the three with a reasonable non match day revenue stream.

I started out in RL at Prescot Panthers. I just hope the three expansion teams have a happier ending.

Hemel seem to be looking elsewhere to strengthen any way. They had Steve Bannister (remember him) playing for them against Gloucester and Oxford and Jamal Chisholm and Owain (son of Clive) Griffiths on loan. While Keiran may be in a different category, none of the Broncos DR that I have seen this year have looked out of place in Championship 1, which may tell a story.

As to getting promoted I don't think any of those clubs could cope. The difference in physique between Hunslet and Skolars at Friday Night Lights was particularly marked. If minimum standards still exist Hemel and Gloucester's grounds probably aren't up to them. Skolars probably would struggle too. A year of hammerings would potentially do a lot of damage too (although I am somewhat afeared that is coming next year anyway).

Very embarrassed to say that I've not watched any Stags game this year having been a ST holder in 2013 watching almost every home game (along with all the Broncos home games) to zero Stags games and only 5 London games this year. Hopefully next season I'll be back to watching all the Hemel & Broncos home games.
