A fine, no matter how large would not be enough. large points deduction would be the minimum, relegation preferable.

Their owner has made it clear, he has spoken with a QC and he will break the salary cap. interesting to see what RFL will do.

Nigel Woods and the rest of the RFL board need to do is what they are paid to do. ( Woods alone earns in excess of £200k a year from RFL ) Apply the rules!!!

The cap has been dynamic for a few years now, meaning players cannot be registered if doing so would break the cap. The days of counting up the year after and docking points are gone. We'll see if the RFL has the bottle to implement their own system properly, and how much of this talk from Leigh is good old fashioned hot air.
Let's not forget the Super 8 system has been designed specifically to get Leigh, Fev or Halifax their year in the Super League sun. Small town game run by small town people.

Who was the big prop we signed but wasn't registered due to too many overseas player.

If in my day job I had a pound for every time that type of threat was made and turned out just to be bluster, i would be very rich.

Courts in England and Wales have generally not sided with clubs or individuals who have joined an association agreeing to accept its rules and who then seek redress stating those rules are unfair. Judges usually cite a principle of non-interference which dates back to a 1978 case McInnes v. Onslow-Fane. Most such cases refer to disciplinary cases as it would presumably here if the RFL went after Leigh for breaches of the salary cap.

If Leigh are convinced the salary cap is a restraint of trade, they are of course entitled to pursue a case themselves. The fact that they are not possibly speaks volumes.

They and Marwan could hire a room at The George Hotel in Huddersfield and see if Toulouse and a few other aspirant but baseless clubs fancy another break away?

Completely agree! we have enough of it here! but Leigh do seem to be spending a lot of money, the two signings last season, Hock and Higham would not come cheap, then is Brierly going to be on a low salary when so many clubs would sign him tomorrow? now Chase, would he join them on a reduced salary? the proof is in the pudding, they do not have a cheap squad! lets wait and see what does develop.
