If London could have retained its best southern bred players : Thu Mar 24, 2016 5:16 pm
London and southern England has produced a wide array of talent for Super League and the upper level of the Championship. If only London and southern bred players could be retained by the Broncos, and leavened with an assortment of talented Antipodeans, then London Broncos could easily take its place in Super League again. Consider the following talented London and southern bred players now with Super League clubs or Championship high flyers Bradford:Oscar Thomas (Bradford),
Omari Caro (Bradford), Daniel Sarginson (Wigan), Mason Caton-Brown (Salford), Kieran Dixon (Hull KR),
Michael Channing (Castleford),
Louis McCarthy-Scarsbrook (St Helens), Michael McMeeken (Castleford),
Anthony Clubb (Wigan), Olsi Krasniqi (Salford),
The team above would include two of the three fastest wingers in Super League.
The loss of some of these players -- especially Sarginson, Clubb and McCarthy-Scarsbrook --- to other Super League clubs was a big factor in London being relegated to the Championship.
With half a dozen quality Antipodeans added to this London team (one or two of the quality of a Jamie Soward) London would be candidates for the Super League top 8.
In fact you could even add the best Antipodeans currently with the club, and the other quality Englishmen now with the club, to this group, and it would certainly gain and retain a place in Super League.
