2016. How was it for you? : Mon Sep 26, 2016 8:48 am
End of a good season. Where we just fell short. A better performance against Hull KR and Huddersfield and turn a few four points into, six we could have made it. However, that is how it goes.
Still very happy with the way we played overall. Odd game was poor but you will get that over a season. It was a shame we did not see what Nathan Stapleton could have done for us. Not sure of what to make of Izzy, would have liked to have seen more.
Trailfinders. I was very concerned at the end of last season, I could not see how it could work, but it did and whilst, if we do have Superleague ambitions, long term, it just is not good enough. For where we are now , it is fine. I think they made us welcome and I thank them for that.
On to next year Without doubt things have improved in and around the club. Let us hope we can continue to build.

I reckon most folk will feel the same. Happy overall with the season we have progressed on the field with some good performances. Trailfinders, not ideal but suits our situation at the moment, certainly not good enough for super league should we keep the momentum going into next year and challenge.
It will be interesting the turnover of players and how much of the core squad are still with us.
Definitely a feeling of being a London club not just a team that plays in London

Well f**k my hat, I didn't know that!

Come all without, come all within, we're London Broncos not the H********s!

Re: 2016. How was it for you? : Mon Sep 26, 2016 12:06 pm
Well it was a definite improvement on field improvement on 2015 wasn't it?
Finishing second to a Leigh side head and shoulders above all others - and we did run them close in the recent game up there.
We played some good stuff at times, and we dug in well on our travels to pull off a few hard earned wins on the road.
Great win at Salford, if only we could have shown up against Hudds and HKR.
For all of DH's bluster about development of Trailfinders I still think we'll have to move again if we make it back to SL. I hope to be proved wrong !
Next season's recruitment will be vital - we're losing some very experienced pros.
Only disappointment for me is again seeing a couple of our home grown heading up North.
Roll on the Aussies at Stratford - that place could do with a home win!

What were the prices of season tickets this year?

Have to admit sadly did not make as many matches home as in past season's since the first at Fulham, big improvement on the pitch, good set of players who gave their all, Hendo is doing a great job and his team, yes it does feel more like a London club, the ground would not be good enough for Super League, other club's fans were annoyed when one was told they would not be promoted if they won the final to go up to the Championship, and quoted our ground, I wonder what long term plans are? how much longer will Mr Hughes continue to back the club? overall happy, as I said in another thread we need to look at what Leigh have done.

Freedom for supporters of the government, only for members of one party - however numerous they may be - is no freedom at all. freedom is always and exclusively for one who thinks differently.

For the first time in years I've reached the end of the season reckoning that we're heading in the right direction. Given some decent recruitment, we might just sneak into SL at the end of next season which might lead to some issues with the ground, but I'd rather have us dealing with the problems of success than failure!!

Life is pretty simple: You do stuff. Most fails. Some works. You do more of what works.

Re: 2016. How was it for you? : Tue Sep 27, 2016 3:31 pm
On field - no longer a feeling of dread when setting off to a game. Actually felt that would compete. Saw some excellent wins, some gritty determination in games we would previously have lost. Expectations about results have changed. Finished the season actually looking forward to next year. Team heading in the right direction. Pity to lose a number of good players though some of reasons are understood. Some faith that the recruitment for next year is sound.

Off field - felt more welcome and maybe some signs of improvement. The journey there isn't as bad as first expected. Some who complained about standing at the pitch side appear to have embraced the area outside the bar. Funny that. Some of the things might have expected to be there from the outset are starting to be put in place. As a colleague pointed out you only put them in when you have an idea of the income. Are we marketing the club, still not clear. However still some work to be done in engaging with fans and as pointed out, absolutely zilch about season tickets. Perhaps KR and Salford are in the same position (not clear what league would be in) but still disappointing.

The team is more of a club being all in the one location. Not convinced the extra seating will be delivered short term. But as already stated the capacity meets our current demand. Even if we ended up playing first team at a stadium nearby you can see the sense in keeping Trailfinders as the base for the club.
