Nothing wrong with handing out flyers as they are, however there needs to be a way of measuring its success. With a discounted offer there needs to be something like a code, which people using the offer need to use. In that way you can measure the effectiveness of the promotion and see if it was worthwhile.
I agree we need to capture information from these leaflets and not just blindly hand them out. The lads are a really friendly bunch and that will help as they will chat to commuters.
JESUS WEPT HOW MANY TIMES????? £20 a ticket and £15 on beer and merchandise.....so an away fan is worth £35. At best, 1,000 is the average away support split across 11 rounds and I am being really generous here, so Toronto, replacing say Wakefield will cost a SL club £35,000. The minimum turnover of a SL club is £4,000,000 so Toronto instead of Widnes is worth less than 1% of a SL clubs turnover.
There are many valid reasons for and against expansion into America, but "AWAY FANS" isn't one of them.
Great idea and let's hope it pays dividends for the club. As others have said, it would be good if there was a way to gauge response, but it is still more than the club has done in a very long while...well done to whomever is driving this!
