I would hope that any money raised by the fans is ring fenced and not swallowed up by the administrators, who will pay themselves first, then distribute the remaining funds to creditors.
Apparently they have had a large chunk of the parachute payment, plus all the season ticket monies and in the first month of the season the club has gone bust. The new owners will need deep pockets, very deep pockets.
I believe that they will have to go part time and trim the squad too.
The word is that the club will come out of administration tomorrow. I hope that the RFL have put this proposed takeover under severe scrutiny, as the last thing we want is Widnes to go belly up again in six months time.
