Re: Next 3 games : Thu Mar 07, 2019 2:02 pm
As I say the appeal has gone for me, I used to play, referee in the southern leagues, ran an Aldershot team in the very early days of the London leagues long before the conference etc plus much more.Growing up I loved the Wires v Wigan battles at Wilderspool and Central park, Davies up against Tuingamala, Drummond, Boyd, Offiah, Clarke, Edwards....... Some brilliant Aussies/NZ in other teams, like Meninga, Fatty Vautin, The King it goes on and on
You look at Wigan today, the big name of RL, and the big off season signing was a HB who has played his last 7 years in the championship and is 30 odd years old.
In the past I never missed a TV game on Sky, went to all Magic weekends, Perpignan to watch the Broncos even for the pre season friendlies.
I've just booked a holiday which afterwards I realised clashes with The Broncos in France and thought oh well. I looked a hotels in Liverpool a while back and saw the prices were relatively high and thought i will leave it. This wouldn't have happened in the past.
The fat accountant and now his brew boy have taken the game backwards sadly. You see the progress RU, Cricket etc have made through innovation and great ideas whilst we tinker with shock clocks and go backwards.
Its not the Broncos its the game in general. Add that to playing in a second rate ground.................
