If Wigan end up bottom and Toronto second there will all of a sudden be a change of rules. They will keep all the SL teams up and promote two teams from the championship. This will then fulfil the RFL requirement of Wigan still in SL and Toronto in SL. The RFL will not let Toronto be kept out of SL for two seasons running.
Simple solution. Getthe players to learn the laws, then get them to abide by the laws. Teach the players how to keep count up to 7. Get them to play the game without making any mistakes or cheating, job done you don’t need a ref anymore.
JESUS WEPT HOW MANY TIMES????? £20 a ticket and £15 on beer and merchandise.....so an away fan is worth £35. At best, 1,000 is the average away support split across 11 rounds and I am being really generous here, so Toronto, replacing say Wakefield will cost a SL club £35,000. The minimum turnover of a SL club is £4,000,000 so Toronto instead of Widnes is worth less than 1% of a SL clubs turnover.
There are many valid reasons for and against expansion into America, but "AWAY FANS" isn't one of them.

Or just teach the referees to be consistent?
