David Howell - Injury : Mon Aug 10, 2009 12:51 pm  

I have just been reading an article on the Richmond & Twickenham Times website about Saturday’s game against Bradford and it mentions that David Howell may have suffered season ending facial injuries in training on Thursday. Did anyone find out what happened and what injuries were sustained?

If he is out for the rest of the season then that is a massive loss for us and probably another nail in the coffin with regard to missing out on the play-offs.

How on earth do you get facial injuries in training? Anyway as Howell is one of the few players who gives us any sort of cutting edge, I'm afraid to say you are probably correct. In many ways Warrington making the Challenge Cup is one of the best things which could have happened, so there is still a chance. Edit: Here's the link if anyone wants to read. Rob Purdham (two) and Will Sharp crossed for consolation scores for a side sorely missing David Howell, with the centre potentially out for the season after suffering facial injuries in training.

I guess you have to ask why news like this gets into local press rather than being posted on a web site through the clubs 'PR gurus'

How could Howell get such an injury in training? and Robinson out as well, some training session!

I saw and spoke to David after the Bradford game..frankly ,he looks like he,s gone through a car windscreen.......and thats no exageration....I reckon we will have to soldier on without him,,,

I was not at the game on Saturday, but from what I have read the performance was the worst this season. Could the training in the week have had something to do with the lacklustre display, I'm wandering was there some sort of punch-up/fight and the team is now divided, I'm just guessing/looking for excuses as to why we performed so badly ?????

Also, why do the club always seem to hold back about telling the fans about injuries???? All they said about Howell was he was injured in training, why did they not come out and say what and how the injury occurred, what is there to hide as it always comes out in the end.
