Mood of the Fans - a picketer's perspective : Sun Aug 18, 2013 10:23 am
Having spoken to the vast majority of the fans who turned up for our last home game of the season yesterday, we have inadvertently conducted the largest fan feedback session for many a year. I don't think there will be any surprises with what we found but it does speak volumes about us as a "tribe"There is universal frustration about the silence. In fact many said it was at the very least disrespectful, although none were surprised!
The majority were happy to engage with the idea of a Supporters Trust. Standing up and being counted is an option!
No one (and I mean no one) has any faith in the current regime to deliver a sustainable future for this club. Most vehement were the opinions on Gus, and it seems David Hughes has lost the crowd now too.
Most believed we should be in South West London, whether that be to stay at the Stoop or return to Brentford.
Some thought a clean break in East London is an option.
The pride in the young talent coming through is massive.
Some I spoke to who I have great respect for and are long and passionate supporters of the Club in all its guises from Fulham on now think its too late. One said "if you could find a million you should spend it on something else!"
Having said that at least one person said they were in for a "few thou" if we could get this off the ground.
Barnet is a NO NO!
We really do have a great sense of humour in adversity!
Thanks again for your time yesterday. Whatever happens it was a great experience for us to speak to so many people with passion for our game and our club.
