Statement from Wheeldon

"There were a couple of options for me but I know from playing there (Castleford) in the past that they have very good and very loyal fans.

"It was also an opportunity for me to move back home which I was looking to do.

"I've enjoyed my time at London but it's been a little bit difficult at times financially and for other reasons as well. So I was impressed with the all-round package really."

Obviously found his money doesn't go as far here especially as he's not one of the big earners.

Northern Clubs do not seem to be able understand when club chairmen meet, that our salary cap does not go as far, also for some reason in rugby league, so many want to be close to home? just think if that happened in the Preimiership League.

I am surprised they let Oscar Thomas go. A young Londoner with lots of talent, unlucky to break his ankle and so not given a chance in SL. Surely next year we will need all the local players we can get!

Surely when he's fit again he will come into consideration. These are ruthless times where they wont carry anyone. Whatever we achieve it will be done at minimum cost.
