Again too many Penalties for my liking. Shame about the last pass execution in the second half that would have sealed the match, as it was we let em in to get within 6 points.
But think the goal line defence pretty good, especially holding em up over the line.

Another 2 points in the bank, let's see what we do next week.

Agree. We panicked a bit, but some of referee's decisions in second half were bizare. Hope Lovegrove is OK, thought new guy did well and good try!

3 wins on the spin! Thought at times we played very well ( looking forward to seeing that 3rd try when the highlights are up on the club website), thought the goal line defence was good. Think we need to keep our heads and not panic- like when Thomas kicked the drop goal to seal the win.
Hope Lovegrove is OK, he's very important to us. Thought Minchella looks like a bit of a gem. Only disappointment was not keeping the scoreboard ticking over in the 2nd half.

Well if the idea is to test ourselves in closing out a game then it was a great practice session. And setting up a one pointer (many called for it earlier) suggests some improving maturity. Think loss of Lovegrove was a major disruption, it's no accident he has taken control and we've been performing. However hardly what you would want or expect from the team, struggling at home. Far too many offloads allowed for Batley and lots of bizarre decisions from the ref (did anyone know what some of them were given for, either way?). interesting to see what the stats where for that in the second half. 4 plus times held up over the line confirms we were under pressure. Excellent to deny the tries but should we really be in that position. Batley played a very simple game, bash it up the middle and offload, repeat and err repeat. Think their wingers touched it more from the ball boy than from open play. Good win but we still have much to learn.
