Jamie Bloom is our Ref for Sunday. Throughout the season I think on the whole, the standard of referring has been poor.
I think he is the best referee we have had this year. Stood no nonsense and kept control of the game.
Should make for a good game.

Bloom has certainly been one of the best refs this season - along way ahead of some of the others. The only notable exception I can think of is the fella ( former player I think) who reffed or game at Blackpool vs Sheffield.
As for it being a good game it depends on whether or nor our players decide to turn up!

Ok have to stick up for the refs again. The reason we are not getting the top level refs is because we don't play in the top level anymore. The refs we get are not going to be as good as the full time refs, using em as an excuse for why we lose is just plain daft.

Defend the referees all you like, but a poor referee is a poor referee, however you dress it up.
If you remember we hardly ever had the top referees when we were in Super League.
I will say again, Jamie Bloem is the best ref I have seen in The Championship this year, pity the others are not all up to his standard
Hope he keeps up the high standard this Sunday and The Broncos turn up to play. should be a good game.

I'd agree that I think Bloem is one if the better referees in this division. Refs do make the occasional mistake, then again quite a lot of players make even more.

You know it's funny my mate reffed the army inter corps final at odsal on sunday, Robbie Paul had a chat with the guy doing 4th and commented that there was a lot of Penalties. When it was suggested that that if the 26 blokes on the park stopped bending the rules the ref would not have to blow his whistle so much, got a giggle and a nod of agreement from robbie. Just summat to think about.
Saying that as long as Jamie plays it same for both teams that's all that matters

Looked like a howler of a forward pass in one part of Sundays game. But didnt have a great view and can only assume some sort of touch enabling that not to be brought back?

Also grateful for some clarification of rules when a ball goes out of play behind the sticks from an attacking kick when it doesnt touch the ground.

I thought it should've been a scrum to us from where the ball was kicked.

20m restart. It doesn't matter if the ball bounces before going dead or from where it is kicked from. If the ball goes dead or touch-in-goal from an attacking player it's a 20m restart.
