Hendo's Review of 2015 : Tue Sep 15, 2015 2:40 pm
Only just got round to reading the programme from Sunday, but I thought Hendo's review was a really interesting read. It was unfortunate that it did not appear to be proof read as sections were almost impossible to follow (and not in a Tony Rea management speak way). It did reinforce how difficult it was to take over particularly given his commute and the lack of coaching support and he is honest enough to admit it was a real struggle at times. He did note that he thought the challenge had also been underestimated. In any event he seems to be firm in his ideas for next year. Hopefully that means something will be done about the soft centre of the team both in defence and their inability to travel.

Freedom for supporters of the government, only for members of one party - however numerous they may be - is no freedom at all. freedom is always and exclusively for one who thinks differently.

On the pitch, at least, we now appear to be heading in the right direction under him. With two to play we're in a situation where we currently have won more than we've lost (15-14) and have a positive points difference - it's been a while since that happened. More than happy for him to carry on.

Any mention of Nobby having an involvement next season?

I think that Danny Ward moving to full time assistant coach means the end of Nobbys involvement.

I haven't got the programme in front of me, but I cannot remember him being mentioned at all. He praised Danny Ward for trying to help with the first team while coaching the academy. Danny is turning into the type of clubman, who the Broncos desperately need, but have basically, bar Steve McGee, eradicated over recent years.

Nobby is long gone. Had it confirmed by Hendo himself during a chat in the bar.

Thanks for this, TBH I was never overly convinced about his presence at the club being an overly beneficial thing.

Life is pretty simple: You do stuff. Most fails. Some works. You do more of what works.

Re: Hendo's Review of 2015 : Wed Sep 16, 2015 12:59 pm
Hendo has mentioned some of the reasons in a few of his post match interviews, though I hadn't been aware of the commuting aspect. The unfortunate thing for 2015 is its another new dawn on the pitch that has turned out more overcast than bright. Fortunately another last chance saloon has just opened up. If it truely brings the club into one place then maybe some longer term benefit can be derived. Who actually gets that benefit is another thing.

Lets hope the new signings are what is required rather than just having a big name. During this year to fill some of the gaps there have been some good signings for what we need. Thackray, Cunningham and Kear have been brought in and the younger lads have clearly made a difference while Barthau and Keyes appear to be developing a partnership. Lets hope the off field team Hendo is also putting together for the first team and the acadamies can make an impact.

For anyone who hasn't read it, Hendo has said that he is moving down with his family, which is a very positive sign of commitment.

Unfortunately the Broncos have had a year starting with the positive of this is now Joey's team and ending with the negative that this is Joey's team. This has happened across a number of seasons of late. Next year it will be Hendo's team and let's hope it stays that way across the season so that the excuse of someone else's team is not available.

For anyone who has seen the team this year it is not brain surgery as to what is required player wise: some big units so we are not beaten up upfront and someone to take on Hendo's on field leadership role so he can actually get on with his real job.
