The RFLs accounts, filed at Companies House for the year ending December 2015, show that one director. I think it is fair to assume that this is Big Nige was paid £ 250 000 for the year an increase of £ 40 000 from previous year.
Now I know when compared to football, this is chicken feed. However for our sport this strikes me as excessive. I do have very little confidence in the man. I certainly cannot see that he is worth what he is being paid and question what he has done to receive such a pay rise.
Surely it is time for Big Nige to go.

So how much should the top man be paid? £250 k is nothing in business.

Are you just jumping on the bandwagon of slating city bankers, CEO's etc who've had huge pay rises rejected etc etc without actually putting some thought to it. If Richard Branson offered to take the role on for £350k what would your reaction be?

To be honest, whilst I have a low opinion of Big Nige. I have an even lower opinion of Branson. Who in any case, would not get involved because there is nothing in it for him or his business. which is the criteria that he works to.
The trouble is with the current management the RFL is becoming a nothing business.
Okay last week we had a big announcement. Betfred to sponsor Super League. Not heard any mention of the value of this deal which tells me it is not all that great. However it has to be better than the deal that they did with Stobarts. That was an embarrassment.
We have a great game which I feel is being sold short by these guys. They are too insular and they seem to lack ambition..
Anyway I would like to know how they justify giving Big Nige an extra £40 000 , almost a 20% pay rise. To put this into perspective, although turnover went up, the profits were down at only £139 000.

If I thought Nigel Wood was doing a good job, I would have no problem with paying him £ 250 000 a year. I do however think his and the boards performance has been poor. I do not have confidence in any of them.

Just can't understand how two Aussie clubs want him, for me his time is over, we need fresh blood and the appointment of the Wire CEO to the RFL may just be the person, good track record, unlike Big Nige had at Halifax.

You could not have been around in the late 90's when Branson was pumping millions into the club. We had some very classy players and finished 2nd in Super League and got to Wembly. He also left the club debt free and subsidised them for a year after he pulled out.
