Widnes Away Supporter Ticket Costs : Wed Jan 19, 2022 7:16 pm
Could someone explain why away supporter tickets for the Widnes game are cheaper than the home supporters. A home supporters ticket is £22-00 a home concession ticket is £17-50. An away supporters ticket is £20-00 and away concession is £15-00.
I guess the away seats are not as good as the home supporters but why are the Broncos fans not given the chance to purchase tickets at the same price or cheaper than the away supporters.

Simply, away fans are behind the sticks, home fans are in the West Stand.

Riverside Red is almost certainly right or it might be that Londoners pay a tariff on everything...cos....

I said that in my post, the question I asked was why Bronco fans cannot buy the cheaper tickets?

...because it's easier to milk the few existing fans for more money than it is to reach out to the 3,000 alienated fans that Hughes has vexed off

Adult away tickets are for blocks 101,102,103 in the corner of the West Stand at £20

Adult home tickets (non members) are for blocks 101,102,103, 104,105 of the West Stand at £22. Blocks 104 and 105 are the better seats but why are they selling the same blocks to home fans for £2 more ? Perhaps because only 101,102 and 103 have accessible seating access so if you need that and are not a member you would have to go in the away blocks ?

I think the problem is that initially Widnes were allocted the South Stand; I didn’t see any tickets sold a few days ago. Broncos fans were welcome to buy there at £20. It now looks like the Widnes have been moved into the West Stand. That suggests the rest of the ground will be locked as is the case for smaller attendances at Papa Johns, Ladies and U18 football matches. I think that means a general attendance maximum possible of just around 3,500 plus any Hospitality (about 800 max). Not looking likely anything approaching that figure will be reached, especially with this change to close the South Stand. The knock-on is that it now creates the pricing inequality

Sounds very plausible. It also suggests the club thought the odd advert in Metro and in trains, during a work from home order, would drive a gate in the multiple thousands. A bit worrying.

Par for the course more like - only London Broncos could blow the advertising budget at a time, and in a place where hardly anyone would be around to notice.

It is pretty easy to get an idea how many tickets are sold if you try and book one. The members sections are sparsely populated. The most central general admission block looks about 40% sold but not many in the others.
