So yet again we are first up at the Summer Bash. Sheffield are our opponents and Headingley the venue.
Somehow it does not fill me with excitement. I can of course watch it on Premier Sports if I do not attend. Yippee!

Relegation 6 pointer, so good fixture to kick it off. Good draw for us, Sheffield one of the few teams we have a chance of turning over

Not convinced Headingley is the right venue!

Headingley should be ok if social distancing returns given the number likely to attend. Both the Bash & Magic events are the products of delusional minds & very poorly supported if you compare it to Quins Big Game 13 & a little less than Sarries will get at White Heart Lane.

Does anyone know what time kick off is? I am trying to work out if travelling that morning from Essex is an option. Seems a bit rum that the club furthest away gets put on first

On the plus side it means you can travel home same day. I'd rather be up first than on last

We are nearly always the first up. The reason given it is due to our lack of supporters. They want to build the crowd for the last game. This normally means, Bradford play last.
I expect the game to kick off at midday as they have four to fit in.
Do you remember the last time we played Sheffield at Summer Bash? There was a van fire which blocked the M6 and Sheffield were late arriving, due to it.
We were stuck in the jam too, just in front of the Sheffield coach, so we knew we were not going to miss our game..
If I decide to go and its a big if. I intend to go up and back from Kent on the day by train. I am not bothered by the other games so no reason to stay.

Thanks Victor. Likewise it would be a daytrip by rail, unless my wife wants to spend some time in North Yorks. A cricketing pal recommended staying in Harrogate and coming in and out of Headingley by rail. He said that worked well if staying up there.

Headingley seems a decent safe choice to me during COVID uncertainty.
As the emphasis is on derbies/old rivalries we are a bit of an outlier so I’d much rather be teamed up against Sheffield than Toulouse frankly.
