As a neutral who also wants Quins to do well this season, I confess I was shocked by Howell's hit on Tomkins. I think I've got so used to Quins being a clean team - they used to be our closest rivals where clean play was concerned (not any longer since we have slid downhill in that department!) - that it was quite a shock to see the elbow. He could get a few games for that, which is not what you need.
One thing though that Quins have which I don't think any other team has in such quantity is resilience. You could have done with playing a ton better than you did in the first half but had you not had one player missing, with all the pressure that brings, your second half performance could have pulled you back into the game. But even so, your blokes just didn't give up even when they had two disallowed tries (one which should not have been). I thought Quins were amazing in the way they kept playing. And so fit to keep doing so with one man down.
I hope you get out of your dip soon and get back to winning ways.
PS: I think the Tomkins' brother's knee job might be picked up by the RFL. I hope so. He had no business doing that, whatever Howell did.
