When Hull KR got promoted they said there was only room for one elite team in Hull... how right they were!

Freedom for supporters of the government, only for members of one party - however numerous they may be - is no freedom at all. freedom is always and exclusively for one who thinks differently.

Effectively saying that our licence renewal's in the bag's going to cause a few explosions over in Flatcapper Land :D Things look a lot better now, I also appreciate the lack of overblown rhetoric, just plain facts.

I brought three people down and got them to email their details to the club as instructed, though when we got there we realised there was no neccessity for them to do that, in order to get in the ground.

Think they seemed to enjoy it (especially the free bread and cheapo Quins shirts at £8 a pop) but the atmosphere seemed a bit muted, perhaps because last weeks cup meant the full Wire contingent didn't make it down.

We've had statements from the club before on various topics. I hope for once that intentions are converted into actual actions this time around. Good news though, however I will only be applauding when things actually get done.

Agreed. As you say we've heard a lot on a whole manner of subjects in the past, so let's see what happens - hopefully something positive. I think in the wake of DH's announcement that every aspect of the club needs to be reviewed and dealt with, from the obvious recruitment of a decent coach and new players to promotion /marketing of the club to our relationship with our landlords - I won't say partners as I'm not sure our relationship with QRU is altogether different from the ones we had with our landlords at Brentford or Charlton.

There is now a much better chance to make our future more secure - lets hope its grasped and we can move forward as a club and that this doesn't just turn out to be another stay of execution, which is what then last couple of seasons have felt like to me.

I suppose we'll find out by 2014. However reading between the lines of DH's statement he's put the focus regarding greater "Press Coverage" of RL in the national media firmly in the lap of the RFL. I still maintain that England being crowned World Cup Winners would be the best way of getting greater national media coverage. A Four Nations Victory this autumn would be a great start............

Nope...they got free tickets in 2008 and stayed away in their thousands.

I know a member of the London RL Refs society who got his free ticket in 2008. However, as well as his officating committments he also coached juniors in Northampton and was unable to use his ticket to attend games that often.

However, there is a school of thought that if you make people pay for tickets they are more likely to go to events. But is targeting the "community" game the correct route to market?

I suspect that this route to market is part of any payback for RFL "assistance" in other areas highlighted in DH's statement.

I just hope that the club markets the season tickets at the right audience's, one of those being the 500,000 plus residents of the London Borough of Richmond, the London Borough of Hounslow and the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames.

I think we need to look beyond the immediate catchment area as well. If we look at areas that are say within a 45/60 minutes match day drive of The Stoop we should also look at areas such as. Sutton, Epsom, Aldershot, Basingstoke etc

Agreed, any where not too far down the M3, M25, A3, places like Guildford, Woking . Also why not do a bit of promotion at Waterloo station in the run up to home matches? Came through there one morning when I wasn't cycling in to work and Sarries were doing some promotional stuff there, think it was ahead of one of their games at Wembley. I dunno, have a few players in their kit, cheerleaders, give out some freebies (car stickers, posters), even have tickets for sale (perhaps with a voucher to be redeeemed at The Stoop) for a freebie for a mate. Thousands go through Waterloo every day, good way to raise awareness maybe ?
