Welcome Quins Kitties born 02.04.09 -
Purdo - Determined, loveable with a "can-do" attitude. A born leader.
Louie - Big, white and fluffy. A very noisy prop forward.
Harley- Cute and gorgeous (just like our no.9) Well, I couldn't call her Chad, could I?
Update on Quins Mogs :-
Purdo - deffo leader amongst Mogs. The Capo.
Louie - turned out to be more like Louie Spence than LMS. Re-named Judas.
Harley - Cute but not as gorgeous as our no.9.
Oh well, at least I haven't got a Willy.

Time to jettison the overseas brigade....a team packed with local lads with some of them still living at home couldn't do much worse. If Aussies want to come to London and play, then they need to accept that the price they pay for being near/in one of the best cities in the world is a lower levelof expendable income. Let's face it, of our current crop of mercs, none of them were high on the hit list of the NRL clubs or other SL teams....we are fast becoming an easy option for a few quid....Howell being an example...he has stolen a wage the last few seasons.
The last player we signed who did what we expected of him and put bums on seats was scott hill in 2007/8.....since then it's been journeymen central.

No Mate...you are way off i'm afraid.

If we were playing just Londoners we would barely be able to compete in the National Leagues (unfortunately)

BTW, where is your evidence that (the Mercurial) Scott Hill put bums on seats? I barely met anyone who knew who he was (other than Ian Lenegan).

I can answer that for him.

fair enough.....2007/08 saw us with 8k and 6k crowds and no 1k efforts.....I am patently so far off the mark it's incredible

By the way.....with what we've got at the moment, we would struggle in the national leagues....IMO that is

no you can't........with regard to off field issues I am 100% right......on the field, I am only a novice (11 years) and am open to the occasional error (not many I'll grant you)

Scott Hill didn't put bums on seats. Anyone who says otherwise should be able to show their calculations and tell us how many bums he added.

Spot on to my eyes. Whilst many of the imports have been disappointing I'd suggest the biggest flaw we have is that many of the local lads have yet to prove themselves as up to Superleague, and frankly some look like they never will prove themselves up to it.

With one eye on growing the game in London and the other on sourcing some cheap first contract players we are always likely to take a chance on a few lads. Some will work, some won't, that's the nature of the beast with first contract players. However we are usually relying on a few too many who have yet to prove themselves in the 17 which is giving the opposition areas to exploit. Throw in the fact that many of our imports are not quite delivering as we would like and that our northern imports tend to be honest solid SL players but not stars, who frankly wouldn't sign for us anyway, and you have a team that is unable to make up for / cover up for its weaker elements.

Incidentally I'd suggest it is unfair to say Craig Gower is not delivering. He does his best on the pitch and seems to be a good influence off it. He's even been known to rock up at Aldershot to watch the U21's, as was, something very few senior players have bothered to do over the years. It's not his fault he's too good for most of his team mates, a problem that Scott Hill had at times too.............

Don't the competition rules require us to have a certain number of home grown players.

Yes. See the first few lines of this: viewtopic.php?f=27&t=536616&tsmp=1361635911

Agree with Halfdan's and DswG's analyses. Can't see how anybody could fail to.
