I think we can win.

I'm hoping we will win

We have to include Dorn, he is our only real attacking option

Last year at Salford scarred me for life- it was woeful

My heart says yes, my head says NO

5 games and 5 loses for me.

No Dorn in attack so few scoring opportunities

Our defence is same old, same old…….so I see no reason to expect any different tonight.

With few exceptions we have always been poor away from home (and at home now!!).

If Salford play anything like last week we will be out enthused.

As a Salford fan, it depends how well Foran links-in with only one session under his belt. If he ticks we'll win if he has a mare it gets rid of our pivot in the middle.

Both teams have to improve defensively, but we can throw it about a bit and confidence is growing. Could go either way, but I think Home advantage and momentum will have Salford pip it.

(...And now I've just jinxed it.)

Miserable grey day here in the North West! I think Salford will be on a roll and the way we have been playing they will be too strong for us, I wonder currently who we can beat? The is no denying their new owner has been fresh air to the game of RL, IF only there were more like him, and I hear one other top team said NO to him in the North West ?????

From the tortuous journey up to the abject, spineless, jaw droppingly bad performance I didnt think things could go much lower, but ....

Not a Dorn fan, but I doubt this game is going to be won on defence, so let's have as many attacking options as possible on the field, remove the worst offenders of abject defence and win a high scoring entertainathon.

Win and there will be a tiny glimmer of hope in the dark dark winter of our despair.
Unfortunately I think it's far more likely we'll lose and I'll be trying to talk the few who still give a s*** off a tall building.
Still, in a few years time when the lavishly centrally funded Broncos are sweeping all before them in their shiny new purpose built stadium we can look back on these times and laugh.

Re: The Reds - Can we beat them : Fri Mar 01, 2013 10:56 am
If you had seen only the two home games then the conclusion would have to be that we are the worst team in Super League and cannot even compete versus a side that leaks 40 points a match.

Based on the two games in isolation you could even compare us with the all time weakest teams in Super League like Leigh Centurions, Halifax in their last year, Huddersfield for about a four year period a decade ago, Paris and Workington.

But on the road we have been much better - we matched Huddersfield from about the 20th minute to the hour mark at 6-6 - and at Wigan we were winning 18-16 until seconds before the hooter.

However, in both games there was a blow-out in the last 15 minutes or so of about 3 converted tries against, with a scoreline which can easily be viewed like we were smashed to pieces. With the game clearly lost, we have folded and the high penalty count has been also a big factor.

Can we get back down to single figures of penalties against? If so, I am sure we will win.

Until last years famous comeback, we had lost game after game against Salford since Edinburgh and I thought they had a far better set of backs than ours with speedy wingmen, talented centres and a great kicking game from halfback. But most of the better backs have been cherry picked by the likes of Warrington, Leeds and Hull so I don't see much between the two sides in the backs and we have a better pack.

So I think we can win for sure and am setting off in a few minutes to see our first win of the season.

See you in Salford.

Likewise! We won't be able to out defend them, cos basically we can't defend to save our lives! However we might be able to outscore them if Dorn is in the starting line up - without him we severely limit our attacking options and we'll be coming home with nil points :DEPRESSED:
