If you had seen only the two home games then the conclusion would have to be that we are the worst team in Super League and cannot even compete versus a side that leaks 40 points a match.
Based on the two games in isolation you could even compare us with the all time weakest teams in Super League like Leigh Centurions, Halifax in their last year, Huddersfield for about a four year period a decade ago, Paris and Workington.
But on the road we have been much better - we matched Huddersfield from about the 20th minute to the hour mark at 6-6 - and at Wigan we were winning 18-16 until seconds before the hooter.
However, in both games there was a blow-out in the last 15 minutes or so of about 3 converted tries against, with a scoreline which can easily be viewed like we were smashed to pieces. With the game clearly lost, we have folded and the high penalty count has been also a big factor.
Can we get back down to single figures of penalties against? If so, I am sure we will win.
Until last years famous comeback, we had lost game after game against Salford since Edinburgh and I thought they had a far better set of backs than ours with speedy wingmen, talented centres and a great kicking game from halfback. But most of the better backs have been cherry picked by the likes of Warrington, Leeds and Hull so I don't see much between the two sides in the backs and we have a better pack.
So I think we can win for sure and am setting off in a few minutes to see our first win of the season.
See you in Salford.
