I have a feeling that it is my club Castleford Tigers that are prepared to take the gamble. Our CEO Steve Gill clearly states on Boots and All that we are ready for the changes in the system and welcome more meaninful games.

The emphasis is now on the playing front and not on new stadia and ground facilities. The albatross around our neck (that is Wheldon Road) has been lifted and we are preparing to fight in a relegation battle next year. Income and turnover levels are vital now to get the best team out on the park every week next season.

As I said on another thread how was the man who is CEO of the RFL and has governed over the recent failure asked to complete a Review of the Game?

It looks like he scribbled ideas down on a cigarette packet, some stolen from Scottish Football and thrown out unanimously.

People outside RL and some in can't understand the play off system and how the League winners are not champions, but how will they understand SL1 & SL2 teams playing each other in the first part of the season and then half way bottom 4 teams dropping into SL2 and four teams being promoted from SL2, how can this ever work with teams at the start of the season getting around £1.8 million and teams in SL2 around £180,000! how do those teams promoted ever compete and the four teams relegated should walk over teams in SL2, desperate ideas from a desperate game and CEO.

Many of the top club chairmen Wigan, Leeds, Warrington will love it, the rich get richer!

and David Hughes doesn't appreciate being told what to do. It's HIS club and HE will do with it as HE sees fit.....the appointment of the previous coach against all the advice on the planet shows that.

People talk about "starting again"....we can only truly start again once we are rid of the current owner....blasphemy it may be, but he has taken the club as far as he can....we need to stand on our own 2 feet and if that's in a lower division, then so be it!

As got Gus....I suspect this will be his last "leading role" in Sports administration. As I have said, he's probably a nice bloke, but I honestly can't remember anyone so much out of their depth than him in their jobs....he has produced nothing of any merit in 30+months....

He is preparing the club for a lower division......I'd assess that as relevant.
