Olsi has a great work ethic but just isnt big enough for a prop. If he had a good rugby brain and the handling skills then he would be fine - but he hasnt. I would love him to be a Bailey or a lesser Sean O'Loughlin would be fine. At the moment i dont think we can replace him as i think signing good new players is going to be a problem but i suspect he doesnt have a long term future in RL at SL level. Its not enough to be young and enthusiastic.

I don't agree with this, it all depends on what you expect. There are plenty of players at first grade level who are far from complete, but they can do a limited set of things well. If you play to your strengths and nobody expects you to do those things you can't it's fine, a problem comes when we look for players to be able to do too much because the side lacks those things in aggregate. You can have a solid player as long as you don't expect them to be creative too because you don't actually have enough creative playes. if we had a better squad we could balance out limitations of individuals.

Krasniqi makes more metres/carry than any other Bronco prop and has the lowest missed tackle percentage of any Bronco prop. He is low error, has great hands and knows where and when to hit the ball up vs. passing at the line vs. offloading.

In what way does his size matter?

I really like the guy, I just think he's a little undersized for a prop. You could probably get away with it if we had 3 other props who were 6ft4 and punched their weight. But I think he'd be better off t 13.

The other thing to consider with squad construction is that a club like Melbourne doesn't have a pack made up of big names, and never has. Craig Bellamy invests their money at 1,6,7,9,13. The props and 2nd rows are usually big guys who work incredibly hard and play a relatively simple game. They also tend to have a reasonably high turnover in these positions as players come and go. It's about having players that compliment one another, and not pushing kids too far too fast.

Who's getting away with what?

Supposing a 50kg weakling could do a prop's job, what would his size matter? Size is at best a means to an end, not an end in itself.

This is all a bit Moneyball. Whatever Krasniqi's objective performance, there seems always a doubt because of his appearance. Well, I just go on objective performance. If folk are judging a player on how he looks/his age/his religion/etc, someone else will pick him up for a bargain because they are only interested in how he plays. Agar has a Moneyball team at Wakey, I wish we had one here.

You're overcomplicating this. I just think he'd be better suited to 13.
