I will be going to watch the local amateur team instead. Should we end up at the Hive; games that I attend will be based on going to watch a team for which I have had a passing affiliation with prior to moving south many years ago. For me the last straw will be broken if the so called rumours relating to exemption of relegation and overseas players are proved correct. In my opinion Gus and DH have killed LB dead and are doing a lot of damage to the wider family of RL in the south.

I've been in nz 4 years now........the feeling of optimism from the end of the 2008 season and the 5 years since would have tested any fans patience and agree with daftad or not, the FACTS do point to him having a very good point......although Blanchard seems to have been ignored in this edition of the blame game.

Did Bradford Bulls fans sit around and just moan, when they got into the financial state they were in? the money those fans raised, and then having to watch The RFL, have to purchase their ground and rent it back to them to survive NO! they fought.

DH takes so stick, and yes it surprises me such a successful businessman ha shown such indecision, but how many club chairman have put in the amount of personal financial backing he has? and not just for a season or two, like many in the North.

Damage to the wider rugby league family in the South? it is just another step back in the constant mistakes in the south, Kent Invicata, Southend, and the many guises since the days of Fulham! the rest of the family as you describe them work so hard but take Skolars, yes they are professional but what real progress have they made in their 10 years and will they go much further in the next 10, I doubt it, so that is the fault of DH and Gus?

Selco, answer our prayers!

David Hughes - The Gerald Ratner of Rugby League? Discuss. Or not as the case may be.

Skolars will probably be around in 10 years time.

I'd say that trumps David Hughes & his ongoing re-enactment of "Brewster's Millions".

Perhaps so! but will they have put much more on their attendances? or be in Super League, I very much doubt it.

You're always banging on about being around since the Fulham days.

Or did you swerve the Crusaders era?

Yes if you look at the youth set up and no disrespect to Hemel or Skolars. Having a SL team in London gives the minis and youth something to aim at in terms of a pathway into professional RL. I can tell you now that the shambles that is LB, is doing damage at the very grass roots of the game. You claim to work in journalism come down south and do some real investigative work relating to youth development in the recent past and look at what the future holds given the current situation. Do not muddy the waters either by trying to compare Bradford with London, they are two different cultures, nor look at the past failures relating to Kent Invicta, and Southend which were entirely different entities to what is currently faced with the potential demise of LB. Many a young person is going to have their dreams shattered should a future pathway into SL start in the M62 corridor.

Cowgirl Nostalgist, I can assure you I missed No Eras in the history of the club, some of the days as the Crusaders were not that good in my eyes, but I didn't ever walk away!

daftdad, no way do I want to muddy the waters, without a Super League Club in London so many good young southern players would have ever come through to rugby league. A lot of people have put in a lot of effort with the youth game in London but it needs a Super League Club or those young people will just go back to Rugby Union!

The RFL did pull out all stops for Bradford, are you denying that happened? they are quick to claim glory when anything goes right in the capital and south with the sport but they have let All the Rugby League Family down in these past few years! No new owner will sign on the dotted line to commit themselves until they know all the Facts, that is what the current problem is, we can argue all day on what has gone wrong in the past but all that counts is Now!

The RFL worked hard with Salford and sorry to mention it Bradford, it was top of their agenda, is that the same currently I don't think so, with those two clubs it was news daily until the matters were resolved but currently Red Hall seem to have a news black out on what is happening. No way can this matter be allowed to stay on the back burner unresolved until after the completion of The World Cup but that seems what is belong allowed to happen.

The RFL have done a lot to try and assist us. They were even involved in brokering some of our agreed signings. (We had a number of signings, permanent and loan, lined up before the collapse of the all but agreed deal scuppered them.)The silence may well be at our request as it fits the LB perfectly.

blah blah blame the RFL

Surely the sort of concessions LB are asking for requires the agreement of other clubs not just the RFL.

I could see why other club might object when we quit our ground and release all our players mid licence and then try and seek different rules to the rest of the competition.
