Yes it has to be beating Canberra in The World Club Challenge at The Stoop, 27th July 1997, 38-18, it was about the only time I felt that The Stoop really Rocked! the build up, the atmosphere, everything was just right, the advertising campaign on Capital FM.

I sponsored the match ball, which was signed after the match, and still have the engraved glass tankard they did for the match,

I was wondering who would be the first to mention He who must not be named. The Canberra game must be one of the top Broncos games ever, not so much for the events on the pitch as the excellent marketing strategy and consequent attendance igure.

Attendance attached for you Euclid, in case you missed that sort of thing.

1st November 1987 - Fulham v Papua New Guinea - 4-12

While I had been to live games before (including all of Southend Invicta's home fixtures!), this was the one which ignited the passion to trail across London on a fortnightly basis, which has continued to burn until recently. For me players like Huw "Sumo" Rees, Kieran Murphy, Colin Fenn and Dave Gillan became superstars (if only in my mind).

Mention in dispatches for Fulham v Wigan - Lancashire Cup 2nd round - 27/9/89 - 4-34 at Hendon. Given the club's run in super league and constant games on satellite TV, I guess many people won't see what a big deal this game was. In those days we only got to see the likes of Edwards and Gregory two or three times a year on the BBC in Regal Trophy or Challenge Cup ties. Having them come to play was like aliens landing. Good coverage in the press and on TV I recall and also a 3200 crowd!

Actually despite the loss. The game at Charlton against St Helens. The name Apollo Perillini shall haunt me.

Nice to see Homer and The Gob. Anyone else coming back? The Curtism and many others?

Whilst the above game was spectacularly good I'll stick to Broncos games and go for Broncos v Leeds at Griffin Park. Liam Botham nailing a very late, tricky conversion to grab us a rather unexpected point at a point in the season when we really needed it.

How are the memory banks then?

Nice new thread, a simple one choice per post, no cheating :DRUMMER: although obviously you can post more than once.
Ground/Match/Why.

Nominate one ground the Broncos have played at [inc Quins if you must :ROCKS: ] and one game at that ground which sticks in the memory banks as being a classic and the reason why.

My starter for 10, Griffin Park, March 28th 2002, v St Helens.

40 - 6

Why? Saints always snotted us big time in those days, and this was the first time I can remember we owned them in every department, also happened to be on Maundy Thursday evening so copious amounts of alcohol could be imbibed, and were :DRUNK:

I think it was a rearranged match against Huddersfield during the week and me and you were roped into being Buck and Dusty. The temperature was in the 90s and we were sitting on the wall behind the posts just after half time with our heads off having a well deserved cold VB and cigarette when Sky spotted us and we became stars on the T V.
