If you wanna have a pop at my postings, fine, they're there in the public domain and that is your right, but please, keep the "straw man" arguments down, they are just irritating!

Nope, you're correct Pete. What you actually did was ask the question was Bradford do or die, whilst this week you've decided that next weeks game is a must win. My stance is they are all must win games, whilst you'rs seems to be to accept the inconsistency on the park week in week out in the insane belief that we will some how knock off SL opposition if we make the middle 8
Yep, I will have a pop at your insane postings as that's the way things work in a public forum. If we all agreed all the time it would be a bloody boring forum.

I do agree that we need some size in the squad by the way, but dare I ask why we didn't recruit said weight last year when we knew we were going down? I'd better not, because anyone who dares question the ability of the club or anyone connected with it to get anything right is shouted down by the clique that no resides on this forum.

It didn't take a brain surgeon to figure out that less skill and more strength was going to be needed in this division......but nope, Hughes happily wrote cheques for Grima who selected his mates to come over and do a job for us......all the eggs were put in that basket (case) and now he and his mates have gone leaving us drifting mid table. An entire season, written off as in us challenging for anything other than the chance to get mullered by SL teams entirely because a bloke that played a hand full of games for us told the owner that he knew a really good bloke in australia who might make a good head coach......if it wasn't so depressing I'd laugh!

You know whats REALLY irritating?

REALLY REALLY irritating?

I can't actually disagree with that post, GF! Lmao!

I never did, nor do I now, think we had a realistic chance at a return to SL, we need a minimum of quadruple our current fanbase and someone in charge who can recruit really well and actively plan and execute the growth of the club as a sensible and viable entity, (I won't mention coaching, as the jury is still out on Hendo', and to be honest thus far, with what he's got, he ain't doing too badly).

However, that said, I DO hope and believe we can maintain a status as a strong 2nd tier side, I hope we make the Qualifying 8s every season, and if we don't, I expect a Championship Shield appearance (and prefferably the trophy too!). Then maybe, at some point in the future, Mr Hughes decides, "mmmm, time to retire from big business and concentrate on my golf handicap and running my rugger club properly" or maybe just sells it to Donald Trump or (my preference) Russell Crowe!!

Nothing insightful about it Micky, just pointing out that it would seem that each week we will be greeted with another thread about another game that Pete sees as a "must win" game, when the reality is every game is a must win game from round 1 to the 30th game...or if we're lucky, the 31st.
Dewsbury dealt easily with Joey's Broncos in the pre-season and have beaten Sheffield....I expect a close game but would hope that our full time fitness will see us through in the end. London by 10.

That's exactly what we have now - and it isn't working very well.

You haven't watched a minute of Championship rugby.

All these teams have skill and strength, what they really lack is pace and fitness. That's why props can more easily move between Championship and SL but backs (who rely on speed) can't. The lack of fitness relates to those players who are a P/T.

We are currently strong enough and fit enough and probably also fast enough. We lack the skill and craft though.

Pretty much hits the nail on the head, we lack a bit of nous - look how long we left it against Batley to go for a drop goal! Also from my point of view we seem to be very predictable with our plays. Maybe a bit more variety, get the ball out wide a bit quicker than we've done in the games I've been to.

Haven't seen a game yet this season :( But from commentaries I've heard our main creative player in the recent small run of wins has been young Gilmore. He certainly impressed for Widnes in Perpignan (though not quite to the extent that Barrie McDermott made out). He was probably quite knackered last weekend - I think that the Chemics' return was delayed by a day due to French air traffic controller issues, and he'd have the additional travelling to and from The Smoke. All of that would have shown on Sunday.

Noble's first game on the scene, doubt he'll have any impact at such an early stage, though I believe we should win a close and competitive game.

Back on subject, noticed neither Sammut or Gilmore are in their clubs respective squads this weekend.
