Mark Offerdahl - seems to have had major injury issues, signed for the Bulls but released without playing a game. Also not that big - not sure. Anyone know much about him?

Noticed a couple of things this morning.

Offerdahl has a 2 year deal (so 2016 and 2017) maybe the club are planning ahead.
He states we are a full time club (which we are) but to me that suggest we will continue to be next year
Someone has questioned the club on twitter about Mathers, Has he left etc. Club states he is still contracted and has a 2 year deal. Maybe he is staying next season (or maybe the club are just stating what is the case at the moment, which can change).

I think reading between the lines is the most important thing on this announcement, we are obviously still staying full time, and at least we are planning for the future.
As for the bloke himself, well hopefully he will be fit when he comes to us and can get some game time, was his time at the bulls marred by injury or just not able to get in the squad.
As for Mathers issue, he did have 2 year contract but it's been shown before that can change. Hope the bloke can get fit and contribute in the future

Indeed re Mathers 2 year deal. I made that point on an earlier thread. We have plenty of players on a 2 year deal but that does not mean they will be here next year. So far we only have confirmed as def being here -

Slyney
Cunningham
Thackray
Walton
Davis
Offerdahl
Williams

Until it is confirmed re the others I am taking nothing for granted.

At least with this news, we can be optimistic that we have a future beyond next season.
As for Mark Offerdahl, not the ugly type of prop I think we need. With him we a still a bit light in that area.

My understanding is he never played because of injuries he had when he joined so they released him, but i stand to be corrected.

Yes full-time still seems to be the chosed route, and a two year deal seems to suggest that we do have a plan both for where we play and for the team, whether its cunning or not will have to wait and see.......
