Explain to me how mate is hostile in any sense in the written word? Without tone of voice or body language expression then it can only be taken in its literal sense.
Dictionary definition can include "(as form of address) UK informal used as a friendly way of talking to someone especially a man"

Back on thread though, it will be interesting to see if Swinton bring many down for the game, I know it was a promotion final but they had reasonable number up at Widnes. Maybe the novelty of a new ground to visit might be a draw for them. I would imagine they would be looking at us as a top team (in the championship) to cause an upset at especially after Batley turned over Leigh.
For us, I think we should! be winning this, I would like to hope we can win it comfortably and set our standard at Ealing for future visitors.

As for thinly veiled insult I thought I was pretty up front that you come across as a bit of a dim bulb.

Well for Dewsbury it was an away game, though ofcourse Swinton haven't had a real home of their own for a number of years, but it was still technically a "home" fixture. We should be comfortable winners, though nothing is a given.

CN you could read the rest of the definition of the word mate, but you probably will not bother as it does not fit what you want to read, so be it.
You can be as up front as you wish, still no need for personal insults towards me or anyone on here.
