I did comment to folk I was stood with how quiet it was.
Despite the fact I dislike it with a passion the drum was missed, I believe it has been refused entry because of complaints, to be fair I think the complaints came from game the drum was outside the bar door and it was just the kids smashing away on it rather than any meaningful drumming, in otherwords time and place, keep it up in the stand mebee

Not happy with the performance even though we scored 50 points. Feel the intensity has gone down last 3 or so weeks, and they cannot underestimate Swinton away next week. On current form we could lose at Swinton, and that would make the race for 2nd open again.

We are picking up the points which is what is important, but we need to improve for the Leigh and away games at Fax and Batley, or we could end up 3rd or 4th, and lose the extra home game.

Looks like the club have found the Gus McKay. How to pee off your home fans guide book. It must have got lost in the move.
I thought that they making strides forward in their relationship with their own fans. But it seems not.
Some kind of compromise should have been sought. But it appears nothing of the sort happened.
When you upset a long time supporter, who attends both home and away games such as he. I think he has missed just two games all season, then you are stirring up trouble.
London Broncos are not Manchester Utd. They do not sell out every week. They need all the fans they can muster.
Big Al and his associates buy quite a few season tickets, my family alone have five, plus a lot of them sponsor players. Often the entire support at away games comes from this group. The club needs to think hard before or they may walk away.
My local football team chairman managed to upset a not insignificant group of fans, who now only support the team. Not the club, by only attending away games.
I would not like to see the situation blowing up into something like that, but we have been here before with aforesaid Mr McKay. He who did more harm to the club than relegation. Those alienated fans never came back, did they!

Not really sure what you are on about bosty am assuming it's the drum issue.
Like I say I detest the thing but can see both sides, but if you just sit it on the tables outside the bar and give kids the drum stick to smash away with it then folk are quickly going to lose interest in it. Am sure with a little discussion they will get it back but maybe with a little thought for when and how they smash away at the thing, you can't blame the club for reacting to complaints

I hate the drum. I come to watch the game and not to get a headache. If he wants to bang the drum let him move to where there is no one close at hand to annoy. It shouldnt be difficult with the few supporters we have and then everyone will be happy. The gang go to games home and away so give them a place of their own at home where they can congregate and then they can bang the drum yell and shout (and as they often do swear their heads off) away from us that dont want the bad language and the drum. Everyone catered for then. Everyone has a right to be heard and just because someones view is different from others it should never be ignored whether or not it is pre or post drum.

It is one of the problems with having a small stand that people can't get away from it. There is no doubt that it does help the atmosphere (and arguably therefore team performance) but I can understand those that don't like it. I sit a couple of seats away and it doesn't worry me.

Like I said I think the complaints came from the game where it was a couple of kids smashing away at the drum outside the bar on one of the wooden tables, so not even in the stand

Re: Workington (H) : Fri Jun 10, 2016 7:49 am
Measured reaction was what was required, not simple ban the drum. Seek a compromise, the drum adds to the atmosphere of the game. I felt that on Sunday. No drum, it was noticeably flat.
This Sunday at Swinton I know several regular away supporters are not going. I myself am in two minds. I will go to Manchester as I have train tickets, but may not go to the game itself.
These fans who are upset about this are ones who spend quite a bit of money in an around the club. The club cannot afford to lose any fans, let alone fans who regularly put their hands in their pocket for it.
With Jamie Thackray's testimonial coming up that may also be affected, if they are not on board.
Any bus to an away game, these fans would be the nucleus of passengers.
What the club needs to do is think. What would Gus McKay do! And do the opposite.

I like the drum in principle and yes, it does add to the atmosphere, BUT I can see how it would annoy, in fact I have a foot in both camps, drum to be heard but not seen.

There's no simple solution, but surely the easiest is reserving one of the 'unreserved' blocks on ground level for the Drum Gang, 31 or 37 capacity should be enough, addressing the loss of S/T value in a sensible manner .... this way the haters don't have the drum near them, the in betweeners can hear it and join in / join it, and the brethren can be with it, whilst the walk up on the day find another spot to sit / stand.

Have a review of the facility arrangements with the club post season to try and forward plan for 2017.
