With the fixtures being announced and pre season started the club should now know 80/90% our squad, who is in and who has left. I do think it’s time they announced the remaining players they have signed and given farewells to those who have left in particular Tsang, Olsi K & Sammut seem to me to warrant at least a thanks for helping. Tsang took over a really difficult situation, Olsi K has been with us for a few years and Sammut played with a badly damaged hand for quite a bit of the season and helped us get over the line a few times. I know as a narrative all the departures look bad but that is the reality of the situation. (I’d really like to know when the club realised that pretty much everyone would leave. That surely can’t have been the plan/ expected).
I think it was sort of the plan. When the club wrote to 2020 season ticket holders there was so much stress on the importance of 2021 renewals that I said to a few people I suspected David had signed off 2021 on the basis the club developed two strategies for 2022. Full time if the 2021 numbers added up, part time if they didn't. When it was revealed everyone seemed to be under a contract expiring in 2021, that suspicion strengthened.
I agree the failure to acknowledge the efforts of those departing in recent times has been disappointing. It makes the club look petty to my eyes.
