Just watched the KR highlights. We were dreadful in every aspect. Followed that with the Leigh v Rochdale game. Leigh have structure, stability and quality players. We will struggle against the top championship sides.

Agree with your sentiment as regards the structure,stability and quality, but as soon as our youngsters reach a certain level they as ever are likely to be poached.

Can all the petty arguing stop at some point??

It's getting in the way of discussions that actually focus of the topic relevant to the thread title.. half the time I miss them as I scan through the rubbish

Mods... lets just set a thread called "random dribble" and anyone who wants to engage is squabbles can just post on there.

Thread was Fine and 100% on topic up to page 6 where the usual posting of "drone" appeared from the bloke that simply stalks me by posting drone and was then followed by an attack on me by PC Plum on page 7.......I did not start this drift....getting a bit vexed off that I am being blamed for these thread drifts. I simply said we wouldn't go back up with the same owner who'd taken us down...it was relevant but attacked anyway.
BACK ON THREAD:
Up to then, Paddock, Halfdan, DSWG, Chiswickwire, Georgie Brown, myself, TaRLPaRL nad the Bronconion all said not a chance......
MichaelB, Colly 2, NKpom, Crusader Pete, Southern Reiver and Rich 166 all said we can bounce back

Mark Rammond, Nadera 78, Malifra, Euclid, Rob from E, the Crane Wife and Jaybs offered an opinion but didn't really declare for either side.

Sorry it got like that Hear Ye!, I normally ignore the drivel but when fans are being criticised for actually going to watch the team play I didn't feel I could let that go.

If all the fans stop going that really will be it. Let's face it we're not the first club to be in bother, the history of RL is littered with examples and there is a common thread throughout that history. While players, coaches, management, shareholders, owners, all come and go, it's always the die hard fans who stick around even when it looks like a lost cause.

To answer the OP, of course there is a way back, whether we find it is another question.

I believe we will have as good a forward pack as any in the competition next season with two six foot two brick outhouses packing down with a 17 stone Hooker and a very good loose forward in Harrison. I'm sure we'll find a few more big lads to pack down - Lovell and McMeeken would be ok - and the days of being pushed around will be over.

With the pack alone, I'm confident of at least a top six spot.

I believe the 2014 backs and halfbacks are the lowest quality backs in Super League history, as a collective they are in the main poor tacklers who do not score tries and offer very little. I wouldn't be confident that they would suddenly become good players in the Championship.

For me to think we'll be better than that, I'll need to see who is signed and playing in the backs.

In the halfbacks have a lot of doubts in Foran who I have never seen play well - I remember his debut for Salford v London when we were 24-0 up away at half time - and he hasn't played many top flight game in his career whilst the youngsters like Keyes, Woodburn-Hall and Thomas could become special players but may need another season or two to be top class.

In the outside backs, I believe our chances of signing Dixon again will depend on whether we play him this year; if we do he is sure to go. He will be prolific. Macani is also a great prospect although needs more self-belief. That's all you can get excited about from what we have there, unless the under 19 guys start amazingly like Caton-Brown did.

If we make the right signings in the outside backs, we'd have a chance against the Super League teams, but I'll be surprised if we do get the players we need - might need to win a few more games to attract better players - so I'll say top 4 overall but not promotion next year.
