The Hive is easier for me to get to, and I'll be able to stand again.
It's a short list of plus points I grant you.

Things are shıt. People who don’t agree with your comments, MUST be defending Gus or the club. That attitude is at times, both incredible and laughable.

But you are disagreeing with me purely on the basis of your assertion that me saying the club have done nothing to attract our neighbours in TW2 and then saying they leafletted babaas fans in November 2011 and this year have placed adverts in local free sheets is some how contradictory.....it's not.

The clarify my stand point....the club have done nothing of any substance to attract "local" fans to games at the stoop.......and they have only just started placing adverts in the local paper AFTER THEY ANNOUNCED WE WERE LEAVING THE STOOP AT THE END OF THE YEAR

As for defending Gus = Disagreeing with me........it makes no difference if you are or you aren't defending Gus.....you seem to want to disagree with me on the lack of marketing...and where I bow to your superior knowledge of events on the park, my "hobby" is attendances at the club and a pretty detailed list of what they've done (SIC) since 2002........believe me, the effort and money spent since 2002 on marketing the club is less than a club like wigan spend in a season..

I am completely befuddled as to why you think I disagree with you on the lack of marketing.

Interesting topic

http://www.onlybarnet.com/forum/viewtop ... f=3&t=5401

Been having a look at the most recent planning application to modify the stands and floodlights. Residents not happy, petition and angry letters. Most of them never knew planning permission had been granted for a football stadium in 2008. Give the residents a car parking zone, free season tickets, make them feel wanted and the applicants will get permission.

http://www.harrow.gov.uk/planningsearch ... sults.page ( go to quick search on the left and put in application number P/0665/13 then documents)

At least there are no conditions on the original planning permission restricting the number of events they can hold, unlike Copthall.

The whole development looks excellent.

Whilst I advocate the use of leaflet drops to promote the game, I'd suggest we steer clear of the signatories of the petition in this instance :D

The irony is that the residents who signed the petition live on Aldridge Avenue which backs onto the tube line. Complaining about the noise from a stadium once a week, when they have a train rattling past every 5 minutes from 5am until midnight.

For what it is worth, Gutterfax has it pretty much right about lack of local marketing, in my experience.

I live in TW1 - it was a leaflet through the door announcing Broncos were coming to play at Griffin Park that got me to go see the disaster of their beating St Helens 40odd - 6, after which I continued to watch them as the only game in town.

Since then I've seen nothing else through the letterbox and hardly a sign of local marketing worth the name. I know the owner of the local Sports Shop, have arranged to go watch Broncos at Griffin Park and the Stoop with him, and he's never been approached to put up a poster or anything - and wouldn't a link to a sports shop appear an obvious place to advertise - other local sports clubs do.

As for local free papers carrying ads recently (did I get that right?) they don't come through our door.

At least the Richmond and Twickenham Times carries Broncos reports.

I live 100 miles from Twickenham but I did see an example of local marketing there less than four weeks ago.

Brilliant....in fact, utter Genius. Announce we're off to pastures new and THEN FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 7 YEARS WASTE MONEY ATTEMPTING TO ATTRACT FANS FROM THE AREA TO GAMES WHO, EVEN IF THEY BECOME HOOKED WILL HAVE TO TRAVEL TO KENT, THE HIVE OR ORIENT NEXT YEAR :WALL:

Am I alone in thinking that the levels of ineptitude at the club are seeming only matched by the levels of insanity?
