How about sponsoring an ad at Waterloo Station for the season. Just a small one on an escalator as an experiment. This would have the advantage of people who live on the Twickers line and work in town and a general through put. It could have an offer on it with a code and then could be monitored re response. Those guerilla marketerers on here (you know who you are) would have to stump up (me included) and when the money received from the up take passes the cost it could be re-invested in further ads. I know we have to target the Twickers area but there are 1,000s of people in London looking for something to at the weekends in the summer. I would like to hear Gutters views on this. I am convinced if the price is right we could pick up a lot of floaters who could be converted into regulars. Our profile London-wide is practically zero.

Outdoor or ambient advertising is on its butt at the moment. Posters have always been about above the line advertising, which is designed to raise profile, but it is rarely a "call to action".
I have always championed the idea of some form of activity at Twickenham station (something that PB did at Vauxhal station for the brit oval). I have no idea (well, not a exact one anyway) of how much the current advertiser (an estate agent I believe) pays for their name board under the Twickenham sign, but I would think that if the club did this, together with a tie in with a florist/gardening company, added hanging baskets (flowers in the club colours??) and we placed cheerleaders/players outside handing out the £5 offer on Thursday and Friday nights for 2 hours we would get some return.
As for the ROI model you mention, both advertising agents and senior marketing managers are terriffied of "quantifiable" marketing, because 90% of what the charge/spend, is smoke and mirrors in the first place.

The cafe on Twickers station have always been friendly, a poster in there would cost nowt and may pick up some locals. Last season they were suprised that the season had started and wanted a fixture list. Maybe some one who is local and has the gift of the gab could get them to put a poster up. Small things add up over time.

Flyers/posters/offers in the larger local business tea rooms [how quaint  ] Our RU cousins do exactly this as far away as Weybridge in the Sony staff canteen, although I do not know if it is a club or volunteer led process for them.

' that we need to send cheerleaders in full gear into "crim" bars '

Nothing sexist there then GF???

Why don't you go into a pub full of drunken women to sell tickets to a game and see how far you get.

Get on with your work boy!

WTF
OK......so name me a feminine product that doesn't use a size 8 woman that's in good nick to sell more of that product to women who aspire to be size 8 and 30 years younger

SEX sells.....simple. I didn't say it was moral.....but hey, if you want to burn your bra on here, knock yourself out.

As for me selling tickets....I did also suggest that players not in the 19 man squad could be used as well. As fit as I am  I think a few buff guys'n'gals from the club may get a better result
HTH.

I know Radio London are brilliant for RL, but does the club have any relationship with the commercial station in SW London Radio Jackie?
AFC Wimbledon has always been linked from their website as a local organization they support.

It would be interesting to know what Huddersfield have done to increase their crowds.

I know it’s been mentioned here a few times, but I agree with the comments re targeting students. Sadly our season ends at the Freshers Week time, but a big push for the start of the season with NUS card deals would be good as students are always skint around February/March time.

Also, rather than offering ST holders cheap tickets for friends at certain games, personally I would get more use out of a set number of voutchers to be used across the season, rather than offers on specific matches, although I do understand the logic of targeting matches like Wakefield and Celtic.

I mentioned this a number of times to Greg Whittaker. I used Radio Jackie a number of times to promote the football club. (ok ok no need to nag me about it being the wrong ball) I had suggested on numerous occassions to run a quiz on the programme - weekly throughout the season and offer maybe 5 / 10 pairs of tickets as prizes. Costs little but is effective. I came into the club by Brain winning tickets in a competition and I know by speaking to others that is how they became interested.

JACKIE FM....they broadcast from the stoop on festive day if I am not mistaken.
If we did have a tie in with these guys, then the George Sampson event might have been more successful and the breakdance thingy as well.......

would be good to get them on board.
