was watching an nfl doco. on one of their teams and they used the term bomb to describe those long high passes from quaterback to running back and i think gibson took that idea, realized you cant throw the ball forward in RL and adapted it to a "bomb" kick we have

Here's a fact. Very often, when the club doesn't do something as YOU deem to be the way to go, it's called a "missed opportunity" by you. Some people reading this will see it as the club failing. Purely based on your comment.
Few points here.....firstly, the club don't do anything "very often". Next up, regardless of if I agree with their course of action, unfortunately for them (and you) is they have never, ever proven me wrong, but I have often (not very often BTW) called it early and called it right. Lastly, the club are failing...in many ways, most of them of the pitch. Reliance on 1.5 million in handouts on top of a 2 million income from tickets and SKY is not a success......by any stretch......42% of their income based on charity.
2 Marketing Managers employed from Cricket, 2 CEO's employed from cricket and between them, they've seen crowds drop by close to 30%........ticket holders, viral videos, GRAB-ONE DEALS......these all smack of someone trying to be clever without actually doing any work.
Don't get me wrong, I never rated Chris Warrren as a marketing Manager either......staff used to let the volunteers collect the flyers at GP then bugger off home not helping with the door drops.....laziness is part of the club mentality...especially in the back office.
The current CEO sacked his 2 'personally picked' staff in marketing and corporate and replaced them with a PA for himself......do you need me to draw you a map?
I started my 1 man crusade in 2002.......they have ignored me or paid me lip service when it suited and they have never implemented or attempted anything I suggested........whilst all the time losing money, sponsors, coverage and fans.
Why do I care?
I care because there is MASSIVE potential for the club if they'd just bite the bullet and go for it......11 years since I first suggested anything and they are worse off now than they were then.
10 years ago, they stood a fighting chance, but the damage being done now, is getting close to irrepairable....when DH finally goes, I see the club dropping down a tier.....homeless, semi-pro and being raped of all it's young talent by either northern League clubs or Union in the South.....kind of like before the Superleague was even thought of......but some on here call that progress!
it's only my opinion BTW........I may be wrong.....I'll be happy if I am.....but I somehow doubt it on current evidence.

No, pathitic would have been to compare the 1.3 million a year in revenue generated by Saracens through sponsorship and naming rights on a stadium that we aparently looked at but dawdled upon, with the sense of relief felt when we finaly got a shirt sponsor with 7 games of the season left......the first season back as the London Broncos....the "all saving name change season". Saracens get about 6k on average to their home games in the regular season.......does that mean SELCO are giving us 750k a year?
Pathetic could also be the comparisson with the 300k a year that Bradford have nailed down for naming and shirt rights....only 25% of Sarries, but decent enough all the same for a club that nearly didn't exist 2 months ago....are we on that much?
I call it as I see it....and IMO, SELCO signing up for 12 months only looks good because of what went on for the previous 2 years.......which was pretty much nothing.
The Current CEO is learning his trade at the clubs expense. By the time he moves on, probably back into cricket, he'll have gained experience at our expense....he was recruited on a whim (if what I have been told is true, it's even more shocking than you could ever imagine) and has done nothing in 2011 or 2012 to point to him knowing what he is doing.........his tenure is proving very similar to his Predecessor.

Apparently something in there is unfortunate for me? Not sure why you'd take it upon yourself to think that.
None of what you've just said has anything to do with what is (in your opinion) an apparent "missed opportunity" with Fosters. And you appear to have ignored the fact you were wrong with the dates of Fosters being our main shirt sponsor and also you were having a go at the very man who, whilst at Fosters, provided us with sponsorship and the aforementioned shirt sponsorship.
Why don't you talk to Fosters and ask them why they chose Rovers? Tell us what they said.
Would we have been able to do a deal with Foster's anyway? I know many breweries have been involved with sponsoring RL clubs in the past but these days I thought the RFL were against having sponsors that were seen as 'not suitable for family sport' ie booze, fags, gambling etc..
You do know that the Fosters deal with Fev Rovers is only a small sticker on the back of the shirts just above the numbering? They are not main sponsors - Probiz are.

The only missed opportunity I have mentioned here is the totalack of anything fromKeith Hogg when he was running the club....after Paul Brown left. I am aware that he was the reason we had fosters asasponsorearlier in the piece, but I said BOSS Hogg.....as in when he was BOSS. You were the one who alluded that I meant that fosters sponsoring a northern club was a missed opp....I never said it.

...so I got some dates wrong....and I have already said, I was referring to when KH was in charge.

What? Do the CEO's job for him?
Sorry, but all I said was that a major international brand had stuck their logo, no matter how small, on a RL shirt........putting into perspective the false sense of relief felt here by the announcement of a 12 month deal with SELCO.
Virgin, Metro, TNT, Flight Centre, VB, Fosters & Bartercard are some of the internationally known brands that adorn my LB/HRL shirts.........not, as was the case for most of 2011....a local dentist!

What you say may be right but I do think you're under-estimating the size of Selco. I don't work in anything like the building trade but I'm well aware of them. Selco are certainly at the very least comparible with other SL shirt sponsors.....
