Certainly looks that way - this game is either going to be interesting or a total nightmare!

As for Dollapi and Woodburn-Hall has anyone seen these two play and what if you have are your views on them.[/quote]

Seen them both playing in Aldershot. Both decent players but I'm surprised to see them in a 19 at the moment. Erjun is potentially a huge talent but incredibly raw. He clearly didn't play the game as a youngster, possibly not surprising as he is of Albanian ethnicity. He's a very uncomplicated player, he just takes the straight route to the try line and if that involves going through / over / under someone so be it. Cracking work ethic. Temperamentally suspect. One to watch in the future if he keeps learning but is he ready for tomorrow..................

Target the winnable games. Wire, Leeds etc do just the same, although they tone down rather than up like we have to!! its a marathon!!

Wire would beat Widnes every day of any week if they had to.

Re: Wire away : Sat Mar 30, 2013 8:06 pm
We have a lot of quality in the forwards with the likes of Wheeldon, Melling and Grady certainly good enough to be playing first grade football and pretty much no injuries. I'd rather we took one or two more like Clubb and Bailey for the bench, but I think we will still go reasonably well in the pack.

In the backs, we have very limited choice, as always. The likes of Howell and Robertson seem to miss as many games as they play whilst only Dixon, O'Callaghan and Channing seem to be available week in and out. I'd not be keen to throw in any of the youngsters v Warrington.

I reckon we will have this side out tomorrow:

19 DAN SARGINSON
2 LIAM COLBON
15 MICHAEL CHANNING
24 MIKE McMEEKEN
21 KIERAN DIXON
6 MICHAEL WITT
23 TOMMY LEE
14 SCOTT WHEELDON
9 CHAD RANDALL
8 ANTONIO KAUFUSI
16 CHRIS MELLING
22 WILL LOVELL
17 SHANE GRADY

20 MATT COOK
27 ERJON DOLLAPI
26 BEN FISHER
18 OLSI KRASNIQI

25 ALEX HURST
28 JAMES WOODBURN-HALL

I will see anyone there who is going. Probably there about 12ish.

If we do pick Woodburn good luck to the kid, I would rather we give someone else the chance than persevere with you know who, who with just 18 tries and 18 wins in 89 games has had too many chances already :x

Erjun Dollapi is Albanian! So is Olsi Krasniqi! Two Albanian prop forwards!

London has done more to develop Albanian rugby league than anyone since the fall of Enver Hoxha.

I believe that the Broncos can make an active recruiting drive among youth in the Albanian community of London, and then use the emerging Albanian stars in London to develop the game in the mother country. That would be wonderful for the international game, and Albania could cross fertilise with the nascent Italian rugby league and with the Serbian rugby league, both nearby.

Since Anthony Rea (aka "Tony Ray") has decided to give up on this match against Warrington away, then the Broncos players had better make a 100% effort against Bradford, to give the side a chance for the playoffs in 2013.

Bradford is a must win, so for starters there can be no place in that Broncos side for O'Callaghan.

Re: Wire away : Sat Mar 30, 2013 10:18 pm
Hello Jean,

It might sound ridiculous given that we have won only twice in nine games but I genuinely believe we have the strongest set of forwards in the eight or nine years I've been following the club.

Over the years, we could not have rested anyone and one or two knocks would have seen players of a Championship/ Championship one standard such as Steve Bannister, Matt James, Jon Grayshon, Ben Kaye, Ryan Esders, Dave Williams, Pat Weisner, Paul Noone and Mike Worrincy go into the team.

However I think there is an imbalance in the squad in that we have few backs. A couple of injuries requires almost a complete reshuffle. Especially at half back.

I would say the home grown but inexperienced Dixon, Sarginson and Channing are three of our best seven backs alongside Gower, Dorn and Colbon and Robertson but after that you are looking at the inconsistent Witt, novices like Lovell, McMeeken and Hurst and then senior players who have not done it for years or never done it.

I think tomorrow will be decided by whether the backs can do well against international quality players.

We are generally beaten in the backs even with our best seven out, so I am hopeful that we can work hard to shut down the opposition or face ridicule once again at Warrington.

There doesn't seem to be any markets on tomorrows game, but Chris Bridge has about 10 tries in 3 games against us at Warrington, so he has to be worth a punt.

Cheers
Mark

Albania cross fertilising with Serbia eh? About 1,000 times more ludicrous than developing Esher as a Super League stadium.
