Hello Jean,
It might sound ridiculous given that we have won only twice in nine games but I genuinely believe we have the strongest set of forwards in the eight or nine years I've been following the club.
Over the years, we could not have rested anyone and one or two knocks would have seen players of a Championship/ Championship one standard such as Steve Bannister, Matt James, Jon Grayshon, Ben Kaye, Ryan Esders, Dave Williams, Pat Weisner, Paul Noone and Mike Worrincy go into the team.
However I think there is an imbalance in the squad in that we have few backs. A couple of injuries requires almost a complete reshuffle. Especially at half back.
I would say the home grown but inexperienced Dixon, Sarginson and Channing are three of our best seven backs alongside Gower, Dorn and Colbon and Robertson but after that you are looking at the inconsistent Witt, novices like Lovell, McMeeken and Hurst and then senior players who have not done it for years or never done it.
I think tomorrow will be decided by whether the backs can do well against international quality players.
We are generally beaten in the backs even with our best seven out, so I am hopeful that we can work hard to shut down the opposition or face ridicule once again at Warrington.
There doesn't seem to be any markets on tomorrows game, but Chris Bridge has about 10 tries in 3 games against us at Warrington, so he has to be worth a punt.
Cheers
Mark
