There's some real talent coming through from the academy.
Will there still be a club for them to play for?

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity

Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

The reaction of messrs Arthur, Cullen and McRae afterwards wasn't a bundle of laughs - they were commenting on how all our decent players were leaving at the end of the season. As to the Magic Weekend if (if!) we drop out, the solution's obvious - bring in the winners of the Northern Rail Cup to make up the numbers.

Go on, explain to me how you can have an odd number of teams playing an odd number of games?

As far as I'm aware the Aussie teams don't play each other twice each season, include byes for teams and is exactly why they have a play off series to decide the Grand Finalists.

And in Super League we already have an odd number of rounds due to the magic weekend, would an odd number of teams really matter. Just give the most dreadful team the previous year (or the newly promoted team - well they don't fit in do they) the bye for that weekend.

Having watched the Clubb interview it sums up a lot about the club. Firstly the club allow an interview before a major and potentially positive game for them and don't set out the ground rules to Sky, given the clubs actual position. Surely a savvy media focused club would have briefed Clubb on what to say, stated to Sky they could have the more personal interview but embargo it until after the QF.

Secondly the difference in approach by each club in terms of promoting themselves for this game. Which looked positive and going places and which was the wake?

Sky demonstrate their desire to set up a very visible contrast not in any attempt to promote a game unless you like promoting car crashes. The gloating in the studio after the Clubb interview was rather obvious.

I think in a couple of months Sky can do without my subscription and I'll switch to Premier Sports.

All said the whole thing was embarrassing.

And now the end is near and so I face the final curtain ........ Our new song to run out to.

Clubb has let the Broncos down badly.

When will you stop pointing the finger at anyone other than those who are 100% responsible?
The Ground....Tony Rea.....and now it's tub'o'lard Woods's fault that the club are heading down the crapper and clubby's a bad man for speaking the truth  .

David Hughes is responsible for the malaise the club finds itself in. It his mickey poor judgment and recruitment/retention of individuals who are not up to the job in nearly every area of operations.

I for one am sick to loving death of everyone trying to put a positive spin on the goings on at the club since Ian Lenegan left.....any other business would have folded years ago, but Hughes desire to get a winning team ahead of building a sustainable business model has hammered the last nail into the coffin.

I should be sad that the club I support is being death ridden by incompetent fuckwits, but all I feel is loving anger

Those about to die salute you.

The only positive I can think of is that if the club does fold/go down to Championship level, it will be (or loving well should be) the end of the career of our CEO in sports administration.

Nigel Woods has ruled over failure the past few seasons, not just lack of major sponsors for the game and the clubs let him loose in this way! I see clubs going into admin trying to retain their place spending monies they do not have, also clubs getting promoted spending too much.

But I just can't believe what may happen to the second tier, we are going backwards!

Not sure I'm bothered much longer, it surprises me with Tony Clubb yesterday being so negative before such a big game, but we have no real clue what is going on.

Big Nigel will rule over the destruction of the game, what did he really for for Halifax when with then, in fact what did Ralph do with his club?

Twickers again will have the last laugh!

I don't think Twickers really give that much thought to the administration of RL. But to focus in on our club we have no-one to blame but ourselves for the current predicament. It was pretty clear when the current licence was granted that there were areas in which we needed to improve. Rather than address those areas we have gone backwards as a club to the extent that it would be difficult for us to justify a further licence under the current arrangements.

A reduced SL puts us in real threat (and rightly so) but what concerns me most is the lack of any evident plan from the club of how it is going to secure our future.

the Imaginary "code wars" still rage in the minds of some.........I have no doubt that Tarquin Ponsonby-Smythe once shot some yorkshiremans whippet, but this "code war" bollox really needs to be put to bed

The RFU are expected to turn over close to 140,000,000 in 2013.....when ever they discuss their problems with attendance at Aviva Premiership games they make reference to soccer as their main rival, they will have Australia, Argentina and New Zealand over for a kick-a-bout this November before letting the Barbarians and Fiji play 15-a-aside touch rugby on their pitch...they will shift 328,000 tickets at an average of 50 notes a pop.....
...yeah, I am sure they are fretting over the actions of Rugby League or its token non-heartland club
