Having watched the Clubb interview it sums up a lot about the club. Firstly the club allow an interview before a major and potentially positive game for them and don't set out the ground rules to Sky, given the clubs actual position. Surely a savvy media focused club would have briefed Clubb on what to say, stated to Sky they could have the more personal interview but embargo it until after the QF.
Secondly the difference in approach by each club in terms of promoting themselves for this game. Which looked positive and going places and which was the wake?
Sky demonstrate their desire to set up a very visible contrast not in any attempt to promote a game unless you like promoting car crashes. The gloating in the studio after the Clubb interview was rather obvious.
I think in a couple of months Sky can do without my subscription and I'll switch to Premier Sports.
All said the whole thing was embarrassing.
And now the end is near and so I face the final curtain ........ Our new song to run out to.
