Freedom for supporters of the government, only for members of one party - however numerous they may be - is no freedom at all. freedom is always and exclusively for one who thinks differently. Rosa Luxemburg, 'Die russiche Revolution'.
Difficult to pick one from quite a few, but I'm going for Craven Cottage, 18th. April 1982, Fulham 17 - Hull (Cup winners a few weeks later) 12. I'll always remember Colin Gibson's comment in his match report in 'The Times' - 'Carl Radbone, not noted even by his supporters for his ability to read the game, kicked ahead, regathered and scored'.
August 1st 2004, Griffin Park , London 22-20 Wigan. Cracking match with scores going to and fro throughout. It was a couple of weeks after the draw with Leeds ( the Liam Botham game!) and set us on a run of about 4 wins so we preserved our SL status!
Sorry, memory fades year on year so I remember incidents more than whole games. Anybody remember which was the one at GP where McLinden was tackled about 10 metres out and I sat and waited for the PTB, only to see that somebody had waltzed over for a try.
It was only when I watched the game on TV later that I saw the offload he made to his outside player just before hitting the deck. Our most skilful and exciting player IMO.
Hull were on a 13 game unbeaten run and were the form team (also they reached the gf this season). 7-12 at h/t thanks to a henry paul drop goal in the last play of the 1st half. Hull got the first try of the 2nd, then marty got knocked out and came off and I was thing oh crap. Solo and ty smith scored quick succession tries and we held on for dear life for 15 mins.
Sunny warm day, cold beer, and a smashing game. And a good game with mates was had trying to spot the lesser spotted good looking hull woman, there was none on this day, ruff!!!
Friday 9th Feb St Helens 6 London 14. Coach up, throwing snowballs at the services waiting to see if the game was on, bottles of cider cold in the snowflakes, Marty with hypothermia.

I remember that game - I'm sure I saw little tweeting birds and comedy stars circling round Marty's head as he left the pitch! Games like that are not good for my nerves!
Friday 23rd April 2010, 20:00 Wigan Warriors 26 (24) VS. London Broncos (6) 38 Attendance: 18,605 Official: P Bentham Venue: DW Stadium
Special St Georges day match has reminded me this week. Normal first half (24-6 down) followed by amazing second half to get the Wigan walk going, only about 1,800 at full time I think! Ben Jones-Bishop got the stud through the skull just before half time (which is why the scrum cap now) tries by all our once greats David Howell, Luke Dorn 2, Will Sharp, Robert Purdham, Chad Randall. Not a bad word said to me in the Wigan pubs that night, all thought we deserved it.
