3,235 was thew average for Widnes visiting London in Superleague. Before Hughes indulged his passion for cricketing CEO's that figure was 3,485....we had more than 1,422 season ticket Holders before Blanchard/MacKay. :FRUSRATED: :FRUSRATED:

On the Park, average losing margin is 26 points a game......so we have clawed a try a game back in "improvement" over the last 5 weeks......we are still shipping 41 points a game....our worst ever seasons average points against was 35 last year and in 2004........ We have scored 45 tries this year (2.5 a game).....we are heading towards our lowest ever points for total in a season.

Hey Ho......next up Wigan. I received an email stating that the club had declared their intention to FILL THE HIVE for this one
3,200 is one of the numbers MacKay couldn't crack.............let's hope the Barnet FC supporters roll up in numbers!

If people doubted you about Gus before then surely nobody does now. I'm not sure why you made this post. Gus has gone, he isn't going to come back and there can't be anyone who thinks that he did a good job.

Poorest Hive performance of the season against the weakest oppo.

First time I've seen a real lack of effort and enthusiasm from some players. Some awful kick chases. And some awful kicks - everyone has commented on Drinkwater's kicking game but it really is terrible and gets brought into sharp relief when the away team seem more familiar with the small dimensions of the pitch than the home team.

Grima got his selection badly wrong and used his bench dreadfully. Reminded me of Rea. Moore had too many minutes, Duckworth is a right winger and was absolutely shocking on the left. Keyes clearly didn't know his teammates - not a criticism of the player BTW. JWH at stand-off for me next time.

I could go on. Very disappointed.

Only my second visit, so can't really compare with other games. Agree Moore was on for too long but there were no alternatives - Bishay not selected, Cunningham missing (and much missed) presumably because of his concussion last weekend, Keyes off injured early in the second half. First three Widnes tries all followed directly from us handing over possession in our own twenty zone. We didn't have a forward to make the hard yards like Tickle did. And I don't know why JWH got man of the match.

Sitting just along from me in the East stand were Nesi, Farrar, Minns, Dixon, presumably Atkins but I don't know that I'd recognise him, and B and C mentioned above. Too much experience missing, especially in the backs, in a thin squad.

Agreed, plenty missing, but Grima could have swapped Duckworth and JOC, played Foster at left centre and picked Bishay - all available.

Grima was guilty of much the same against Hull. Key players went off but problems exacerbated by having no options at 1/6/7/9 on the bench.

Selco, answer our prayers!

David Hughes - The Gerald Ratner of Rugby League? Discuss. Or not as the case may be.

Isn't that like re-arranging deckchairs on the Titanic?

Spot on. Coach has much more knowledge than I do so must have had his reasons. Didn't realise that Foster was also missing. (Hate the ridiculous programme that provides spaces for notes alongside each player's name, but not the laser pen which would be necessary to write on the hard glossy surface.)

EDIT: Foster wasn't missing. I'm not going to dispute positional selections with the coach.

Not really.

Compare Duckworth's right wing stats (tackles missed, metres gained, etc.) with his left wing numbers.

Do the same for Jordan Atkins, incidentally. Another right winger who has looked like a fish out of water when played on the left but has been excellent on the right.

If this was simply rearranging deckchairs, you'd find no discernible difference in performance. But you do.

Making the switch isn't straightforward as you're reading play unfold in precisely the opposite way you've got used to. Plenty manage it, of course, but it's not an experiment worth undertaking when the rest of the backline is also an experiment!

McMeeken and Bishay played for Skolars yesterday. Grima was there to watch. Can't imagine he saw anything that would be making him rush to pick either in the near future.

Yeah - something rotten there when they have the best squad they've ever had.
