wasn't his idea....was my "suggestion". Sorry
All I am saying (and please be aware I was equidistant between L&L and the HKR massive, that they made a lot more noise....even in the first half!
That tin roof really does make a difference.
L&L needs to be situated (IMO) in an area that allows a few first timers to get a feel for the atmosphere...as it is, first timers are currently limited to AA/AB or AH/AJ for £15 which is the top price most will pay for their first game.
As for telling people to get off their @rses and cheer the team.......that kind of stalanist attitude will really help boost attendance
I understand that not everyone can be made happy all the time, but the club need to think this one through.
If it means reducing the gold club membership price and generalising all the other prices, then so be it, but the ticketing needs to be looked at for next year. If we work on the £9.50 price that the IL calculator said was the average income per person at a game, we are already 60k down on income this year  so I would personally look at going back to £10 Tickets and £100 ST's.

All of your comments (and those of many, many others) just underline the fact that the existing ticketing/price arrangements, plus the seating plan is not working.......in fact it is a complete `pigs breakfast`. IMO the away fans should not be in the East stand, but allocated the North.....in the same way as we have to accept a behind the sticks position at many other grounds. The East stand should be for the home fans. At the moment the stewards are not to blame for the confusion that reigns, the ticket office is not on the same page and will quiet happily sell anyone a ticket wherever....as we found at the Huddersfield cup match, when they sold some of our season ticket seats to away supporters!! Away fans in one stand will cut through the confusion.
As for the East `Home` stand, current seating arrangements are far too inflexible and make life difficult (as a ST holder) if you want to bring guests/newbies.....as far as I am concerned you can do away with much of the current restrictions, even out the pricing and if you want a good seat in your favoured position....get there early. Present arrangements positively discourage new fans who want a decent seat and be able to sit with friends.
As for L&L......you are correct, around 200 seats were allocated, but I am not sure that all were taken up, or taken up by fans who wanted to `participate`. With the numbers we have in the L&L area who are vocal, we do our bit and try to make our presence felt......what gets up my nose is people who post messages complaining about the lack of din, yet make no or little effort themselves to contribute.
Last but not least........fans and marketing have their part to play in adding bums on seats, but so do the team..........unless we can put on consistent good performances at home (hopefully winning most of our home games) we can arrange the deck chairs as much as we like......but we will continue to struggle to attract new fans and retain our existing (long suffering) fan base.

The negativity of you lot gives the club a bad name - as if you're trying to fin something to moan about.

Seriously, QRL have just under a month to shut up those who constantly make jibes about expansionism not working in London (FAO Penguin - Stevo, Garry Schofield etc etc) and the club and the fans have a lot of time to attempt to rectify this.

Posters, videos etc etc are needed to publicise the game and hopefullly attract interest.

What about linking the day in with a charity which equals cash for the charity and good PR for the club?

I know some of you go and play touch/grapple on a Wednesday night so what about fixing up a game against Wakefield Webcats (I think thats their name)

Ok, everyone isn't a fan of drums but Leeds are famous for there one and the noise can be pretty deafening when they get going and some (not all) people feel that it enhances the atmosphere and with first timers there little things like this can swing it for them to come back.

Go ahead get shooting.

Let's get something straight BF. Everyone on here wants the club to do well and some have given their time and services for free to assist this, but to simply think getting a group to play tag rugby is a part solution just shows your complete misunderstanding of what has gone on in the past.
Firstly...the london griffins started as a tag team and grew to a full contact team. They won various tournaments and were well received by all those clubs which they played.
We had a drum last year.....didn't work.
We don't have just under a month to do anything. We have 2 years to prove we can build a larger fan base.
The charity thing is in the pipeline and will soon be announced.

I admire your passion BF (you remind me of me just younger), but please, before you kick off on one, I suggest you search posts as far back as you can to witness the re-covering of already re-covered subjects that were previously re-covered 8)

GF I'm not saying a game of rugby between two teams will bring thousands in but by doing little things like this the club will get a reputation as a Family club (btw I'm not say QRL isn't at the mo).

I thank those who have given there time up to help the club and southern based RL, Well Done everyone.

Was the drum in the stand?

Yes QRL have 2 years to get a wider fan base but starting now is vital in order to confirming a spot in the next SL franchise.

Thank you GF, I don't know if thats a compliment but cheers. I'm not here to kick off about anything. I, like you all want to see Rugby League in London prosper.

Jester season tickets were £100 this season seem to have proved quite popular, too many ticketing brackets though. Leave Gold as they are with allocated seats, and sell all the rest for £100 quid a go unallocated allowing punters the flexability to sit and move around with those that buy on the day.

Just so you are aware of what IS being done (and in my book...it's not enough by half  )
The RFL have a full time team working on London and the SE.....
The RFL have actively been helping out with the marketing activity at the club
The Club have no money to spend on marketing and the back office team are at full stretch simply getting a game day organised and should all be applauded for this
The Local community (schools etc) are being harrassed 8) regularly

What I will also say is (and it's not often you will hear me say this) we need a bit more patience on the marketing thingy.....
As has been officially announced by the clubs new mouthpiece 8) 8) 8) (sorry Alison) a certain Mr Evans is getting involved and will be more prominent after the union guys are done. This is a massive step forward and will result in bigger crowds....let's just hope we get the on field results we need when the union lot roll up.
Lastly, the best way we as fans can help out is by continuing to turn up at games, bringing mates and in general letting people know we exist.
BF....you are now officially my wingman! The two pronged attack always works well in my opinion
By the way....get your butt on the Hull bus......you'll never have a life outside RL again :)

Must admit that comment made me chuckle, tis the very nature of any sports forum that opinions are strongly given in either direction which is why most clubs can't and don't want official MB's, this place and all of it's previous incarnations are but walks in the park compared to most RL boards [coupled with the fact that most RL supporters are the most negative bunch of whinging old goats as well  ]

Mark Evans involvement (if it happens) can only be a good thing, he is CEO of Quins RU, but who owns it, wonder if they would be happy to see him splitting his time?
