Thaler is from Normanton, Which incidentally has a Wakefield post code, which coincidentally is nearer to Castleford than Wakefield hth.

....think that SuperLeague need to think about 'moving' Wakefield, perhaps down to Brum. Wolverhampton ot even Coventry......that should save us a bit in terms of coach travel!!

As for Ganson on the whole think that these days he is one of the top two ref's in the game. In the days before 'full-time' ref's no one was allowed to control their 'hometown' team. Presume that today that rule has been dropped.......

Bye the way, anyone have 'view' on the two ref. format. In the NRL it seems to have resulted in a faster game and less 'niggling' fouls!!

I'm surprised how seamless it seems to be in the NRL between 2 refs, it works really well. The trouble over here is that we can't find 7 half-decent referees, never mind 14.

Ah! So that explains his dodgy decision to disallow a perfectly good try by Rob Purdham in our match at Castleford last season!

Could not possibly comment  We get lumped in with him because of his postal address but when he does referee us he does us no favours' as it should be, if anything we dont get the 50/50 calls just the obvious ones. Fwiw I thought he had a poor game on Sunday and got things wrong for both sides.

Never....and I mean never have I seen a more blatant bit of "selective reffing" in my life....and I probably never will. Robbed, pure and simple.

Remember it well, someone should have called 999! I always think of Ganson as being the RL equivalent to (former?)football ref Graham '3 yellow cards' Poll.

That's a good comparison. Both are better than most others, but each gives the impression of probably practising his signals and card waving in front of a full length mirror.

Al Murray as the 1st London ref. Love that thought. Can we have against La Cats?

I started thinking about this after I posted it. How much does Mr Murray charge to attend an event. Surely the opportunity to slag off northerners and the French would appeal....even just to test new material.
Let's face it, he can't be that more expensive than the poor mans Fred & Ginger!
