Another thread destroyed by guttertrash, im starting to believe you actually are a union troll.

The thread is about the stated aim if the club. I have simply pointed out that other than the division we play in, little has actually changed at all. Positivity for ita own sake or to try to cover up yet more uncertainty surrounding the club is as damaging if not more so than negativity.
I started a thread regarding the hive not being happy about the 2nd year of the 2 year deal and it being renegotiated. I was much maligned as being wrong, yet here we are 7 weeks from the start of the season and still no ticketing confirmation.

A union troll you say? I thought there was more to you, but obviously you now believe that negative discussion = anti-league.....what next, outrage at burgess not getting a look in at spoty

Well, the stated aim has to be what it is, doesn't it, can you imagine if someone said:

"Now we've been relegated to the second tier, our aim is to cut our losses, stay well within budget and do everything at a knock down bargain cheap as chips price and hope we don't get relegated to the third tier!"

I once asked mac where he thought we would finish. He said 1st.....and repeated it when I pressed him. We finished 11th.......but mist if those who attended the pre)season forum where I asked the question thought mac was the messiah.
Hughes can say he believes we will bounce back but Hughes employed a succession of failures, so forgive me for having the audacity to doubt hua judgement on anything other than the price of oil

Well I wish there was more to you than derailing every thread with rants about how much you hate Hughes and Gus. There are some positives about the new season, not least playing at a level we can compete at and having a full Pre-season to prepare. You don't need to correct me on my Positivity and bring me back to reality for the good of the club. That's a ridiculous position to hold. I can guarantee you I know more about UK RL than you so give it a rest.

Gotnofax I thought you were a marketing guru? What did you expect Mac to say to you? What message would you advise the club to put out at the start of the season. As for prices that's nothing to do with this thread but am pleased that the one person who Def is not gonna be buying.membership is so worried for us that are

See you ducked the Dewsbury Sheffield question

I wasn't having a go at you, so stop the paranoia!

But it's fairly obvious Hughes can't come out and state publicly anything other than what he has. Some positive signings, all done in good time and keeping the club full-time would suggest he's at least going to give it a chance, which is more than anyone else out there, with the required fincancial muscle is prepared to do!

So gotnofax you saying you will not be happy with wins against Sheffield and Dewsbury?

Sorry Michael. I missed this in all the positive guff you normally type.

I would expect us to hammer both these teams, so the answer is no, I'd much rather wins against SL oppostion rather than processions against part-timers and amateurs.

The thought process that "at least we might see a win" now we are in the 2nd division is an odd one. I would much rather we were still in the top tier myself. As for Franchising/Licencing.......it didn't work because as usual with the RFL, they gave it 4 years before starting to plan for change.....I suspect if the million pound game is an utter hammmering for the championship contender, this new system will get even less time.

Life is pretty simple: You do stuff. Most fails. Some works. You do more of what works.

Please list the people on here who wouldn't want that to be the case? Given your constant posturing I expect it should be a lengthy list.

I answered a question put to me and gave a raison d'être as to why I gave my answer. I have no doubt that the vast majority of fans of the club would prefer us to be in SL, but it is not to them I am addressing my response. It is to Michael B 1234, who is most assuredly one of those who is delighted with his weekly emails and twitter alerts, a shirt launch in a public park and bluster from a failing owner and an untested coach.

This thread is about what David Hughes has said he believes will happen.

I would point out that pretty much everything he has claimed to have desired for the club hasn't happened....in fact, I'd go as far as to say that in most cases, the exact opposite has happened. He claimed "victory" at the last game of 2008 (could have been 2007) in his "dealings" with the RFL and that we would be given marketing assistance. He then ignored every suggestion made by the guy the RFL sent down......he claimed we had crap crowds because people though Harlequins RL was Harlequins Rugby Lessons......then bought as a new website, Londonbroncos RL..... :BEAT: He looked at his 2 mill+ a year spend and decided that the 225k we were paying the stoop was the problem. The reality was that we were paying 750,000 in admin costs......excluding any marketing wages or spend.....so AFAIK that was Gus, his PA and a couple of other backroom staff. It didn't include any team costs.....THREE QUARTERS OF A MILLION POUNDS
So he has moved us to another new ground where we give the takings...all of them.....to the landlord and in return we now have some office space, gymnasium, training pitch and main stadium access. All costs associated with the team and the club are met by the SKY money (which will drop considerably next year) and from Hughes. We are spending to the cap, so Hughes is already 200k down before he's booked a coach, hotel, paid insurance, booked a flight, paid a non-playing salary, a coach, an academy player......and whilst negotiations around 2015's ticket prices have apparently been sorted, 2016 onwards is still under discussion.

So yep.....Hughes and Joey G will of course claim we will return to SL at the first time of asking and say all the right things. It doesn't mean I or anyone else has to accept it and it certainly doesn't mean I can't comment on it.
