Felt sorry for any of you travelling fans! I paid 20 quid to watch stokes blow he's whistle all game! you defended very well not very threatening with ball in hand but stuck to a game plan! Your missing a halfback that will take the game by scruff of the neck but your a better team than last year
A very workmanlike display from your boys. I always said this game would be tight. We had five of our first choice back division out (McNally, Tonga, Armstrong, Kay and Ridyard) and it showed.
I think we were all left clueless as to how good/bad our teams are, because of an appalling refereeing display from George Stokes. In the first half we conceded a month's supply of penalties, and two yellow cards, on the back of 'team warnings'. The penalties got you where you wanted to be, in terms of territory, and you made us pay, with three well-worked tries. You were twice up by 14 points, but then we scored 18 in five minutes. That probably came partly through the ref evening up the penalty count for constant 'technical' offences - although curiously there were no team warnings or yellow cards. Really, he never allowed the game to flow - to the frustration of both teams. If he officiates like that in SL, he won't last long at that level!
Anyway, well played to your guys and I certainly don't fancy us at yours. Also, well done to your voiciferous band of travelling fans.
George also 'caned' London on penalties in the 2nd half, not a dirty game at all, maybe 2 penalties out of the 40 were for foul play. Close game, not a cracker, but Stokes ruined it in my opinion. On today's showing you guys will be in the top 4 without a doubt, but for the missed conversions (not that difficult) you would/should have won it.
Thought you guys did well & were the better team for 70 min, it's just for that 10 min we were excellent. You looked very strong in defence and asked questions in attack too. You could well make the top 4. As has been said Stokes was woefully inconsistent, kept giving strings of penalties for things he was fine to let go before & after. Would have been an excellent, close, entertaining game for both sides with a competent ref. Best of luck with the rest of the season.
I was guttedlistening, but i actually now feel much better, for 2 main reasons: i) before the seaon i would have taken this scoreline, i know they were missing a lot of backs, but they have a very strong pack and decent cover. Wes' kicking seems to have gone awry and we could and smaybe should have won, and we had injuries ii) sheffield and Dewsbury both lost away - this isnt such an easy league.
Next weekend will be an interesting challenge, i hope we get to see Eliab, and hope its dry!
I thought Stokes referred the game very well. 14/16 penalty count speaks for itself, everyone deserved. My question, when does a team warning stop ? Leigh were given a team warning, soon after they continued their antics and Weston was binned, soon after gave another penalty - to me another sin bin, but no.
Its hard to take we conceded 18 in 6mins, but it was at a point Leigh decided to play rugby league, offloads, etc. Up to that point we had contained them. Plus Fui Fui kick off returns (after each try) were devastating, international class, they got a roll on, and we struggled to get our defensive shape sorted.
If you werent there you cant appreciate the shear guts, determination, and most importantly tactical nouse we displayed, and, despite comments above about no attacking threat, played some attractive rugby league.

You should be very proud of your team.
Fair enough, I expected us to get a pasting , seems we were the better side for long periods. That must have been a desperate 6 minutes to watcH! I reckon the players must be kicking themselves at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory! That said, if what I read is true Wes would probably miss!
