Leigh's super league crowds were ok for a side that got thrashed nearly every game, and only won 2 games all season. Nice witty posts by you all, but you cannot defend some of Celtic + Harlequin's regular pathetic crowds.
Jeez, 2245 - that is truly awful, and an embarassment to Super League.
Do you think that is an acceptable crowd, how do you manage, seriously.
I await your witty respones
p.s. Yes, I know Leigh Centurions have a 5hite team, we have no chance of making the non promotion league play offs, what a shame.
Dude - the time for wit is over, you have been crushed in that department.
Noone is happy with the attendances - but you miss the point and that is that sometimes, about half of your crowds in that era were away fans.
It's no surprise that your big attendances were v's Warrington, Saints and Wigan as they're local derbies. It's easier to get to Hilton Park than Wilderspool from some areas of Warrington. And derbies always bring out bigger crowds. London's nearest derby side is 3 hours away.
Have a good look at these stats which tell you a clearer picture:
3,201 v's London - suspect London took 50, so you provided 3,150.
3,213 v's Wakey - they MUST have provided 200 or more, so you're still at circa (that means 'about') 3,000 or less.
When you do the estimates, you didn't appear to have many more than 3k harcore fans; which I suspect London aren't far from too. And you haven't suffered from dragging your sorry self across the city every 4 years or so to a new location.....
Keep watching from your ivory tower - I suspect you'll see the average here rise as the season progresses.
