We all could say that!
To be fair, you didn`t look like breaking us tonight. Our defence seemed up for it,something we could not say often this season.Usually ,the Quins give us a seeing off,and I feared the worse before the game.
Thats the problem- we have been in a number of games where we have gone toe to toe and lost. I understand the philosophy of defence first which clearly is McDermotts strategy(just look at the type of player he buys) but you have to have attacking options and we have none. And I mean none. I have not seen a set attacking move in 3 months. You can talk me through any try you want that we have scored in recent times and it will be individual skill, a mistake or a chance option.
I was watching Salford last week and when they were attacking you could see they weren't set up to score. They were bunched, flat etc we are just the same. Sometimes when we get close we end up going backwards and hand the ball over further away from there line. Its a good job Howell can jump and catch cross field kicks or we would be in a bigger mess.
We are rubbish-full stop. For me the desire to attack finished when we played Hull at home. That day we kicked the ball dead possibly 10 times. From that day on(successful day) we have reverted to a dull, wear down(come and score from 80 yards) style of play and it hasn't worked. We are the Grinders!! as prof Cullen calls us.
