Understand from a few contacts, it is something similar, but we are in the hands of the RFL? Though with the cut back of Academy teams to ten wanted by RFL, as they say there is not enough players? why not the truth, there is not enough money with lack of sponsorship, they are looking at easing number of federation players.

I think it is more likely fact, than the speculation of our demise daily by our own supporters! :)

I didn't really follow that (maybe the punctuation) but you seem to be saying it is the RFL's fault we have no ground, no players, no fans, no funding ? Is that right ?

How you come to the conclusion I'm blaming The RFL for all you list is beyond me!

I said, currently we are in the hands of the RFL what they will accept and in the end the other Super League clubs.

We want NRL clubs to loan us some players, to support a London Club to be able to survive in Super League, well the NRL had sense to support Melbourne, which the RFL/Super League Clubs don't seem to have when it comes to ensuring Super League is a success in the countries Capital!

I went on to say, I don't agree with the cutting back of Academy Teams, while allowing more Federation Players, is that the right way to develop young rugby league players.

So that last alternative may be the way we have to go with Federation Players, it seems we want to be able to compete next season, which is something positive!

Again it is very much down to the RFL how they will react.

Presumably the RFL would accept us assembling a proper squad like everyone else. So why are we in their hands ?

if being allowed to field a team of overseas players for 2014 is the master plan, then we are asking a couple or more turkeys to vote for Christmas and have little chance of pulling it off.

Sounds like DH has decided that the answer is to go back to a team of imports because financially it was so much better for the club and its long term strategy back then

Fingers crossed DH is going down this path. It is where we have enjoyed the most success and there is no way the club can go on over-paying below par Northerners. Give me a team with 10 Aussies and 7 Londoners and I'll be delighted :thumb:

Selco, answer our prayers!

David Hughes - The Gerald Ratner of Rugby League? Discuss. Or not as the case may be.

The exchange rate isn't in our favour though.

Although I've long thought David Hughes is running the club on the Brewster's Millions model.

This is true, however there are plenty of young players who aren't making the grade in the NRL and over the hill Aussies who would love a year in London on loan/a low wage. I swear most people on here would prefer either no club or a club full of Championship rejects than a competitive side full of Tony Rea's shrewd signings.

Dave is completely correct there must be so many talented youngsters down under that their clubs would love them to get Super League experience.

That isn't really the point though is it. The issue is whether we should be allowed to operate under a different set of rules to other clubs.
