Not long back. A loss yes, but pleased I went up there and happy to say that week on week we are getting better. We were well in this game throughout and if we had have got a point I am not sure any Bulls could complain. The bench was stacked with 3 props and a hooker and we lost Nesi and MCB early on and Duckworth later so the side lost its balance. We are getting more go forward from our props / forwards and Josh looked decent, especially as it was his first game. Todays highlights scrambling defence, good aggression, clever halves, massive 4020, team effort ... lows SM tripping himself up, 2 or 3 failed last tackle power plays, injuries.

No idea what went on with Atkins ? Hopefully injuries not as bad as first look.

With Duckworth coming in after a strain? pre season i guess this could be it reoccuring which would be a shame at it could mean longer on the sidelines. Did Farrer look good in the halves before he had to cover for Nesi? Pity about Nesi but with Solomona coming this week? i guess we can cover him but it would be better to play our strongest team if possible. How did Slyney go PC. did he impress? Sounds like no one gave less than 100% which is great.

How can Minns score if Duckworth was meant to have replaced him lol..

At least this commentaries are giving us some credit for being a young side and not giving up and that the pack is stronger then they expected. Now all we need to to able to go over the try line and get the ball down and the ref see's it this time and allows it .

not the first time we have had tries over ruled by refs when in goal ref lino has given us a try, saw it a lot last season at the stoop

Just to clarify a few things; although until SL Fulltime it's from my memory, I don't think it was Minns who scored but Farrar - Minns' family from Leeds were sat in front of me so I took notice of him and Minns was wearing orange boots. The in-goal touch judge said no try for that particular try as the grounding was very suspect and the referee consulted and awarded the try (it was a bouncing grubber kick and I thought he'd failed to ground it)

If you listened to BCB radio then they are dismal, and that's as a Bradford fan, but they are volunteers so that means they are bulletproof apparantly.

London held their own very well for a time, Farrar moving to full back and Drinkwater did well. Cunningham also caught the eye.

Timing was a little out, with some line balls fumbled, a few odd decisions by ref, the ruck area for both sides was a bit scruffy. I was stood on the terrace behind the sticks and my eyes didn't decipher who the forwards were (other than Olsi and Forster) but across them all there was great endeavour and some decent metres made. We held them up over the line twice, so there was some real enthusiasm. Cant really comment on Farrar as a half but looked comfortable at full back (apart from one wild long pass to JOC on his own line). 100% describes it well - based on the three games I have seen so far, week on week improvement, cohesion, combinations, if we go down, we go down fighting, and I suspect we will get the win that GF suggests we wont.

I enjoyed the BCB commentary. Not very professional in some respects but very enthusiastic and enjoyable even without the laughs at the errors. Enjoyed it last year too. Didn't realise they were volunteers, so good for them. Didn't catch their names. Do you know them?

I'm not sure who does the main commentary, I only listen for Bradford non-sky away games, but the chap who makes Stevo sounds like Stephen Fry is a bloke called Mark Hobson - he's the overblown fella who probably made reference to playing like under-8's at some point. He also talks too quickly and rambles on while the game carries on without knowing what's happening. Fair play for turning up week after week for nowt, but that doesn't make them immune to criticism.

Re: Bradford v London match updates : Sun Mar 02, 2014 9:38 pm
Oh and Scott Moore's blunder was the funniest thing I've seen at a game for a while.

For those not aware; London attacking the Coral Stand end, Moore with a grubber in centre field from around 40m out which bounces over Kearney who'd slipped, Moore regathers 20m out and is heading for the line with only Kear coming across to try get near, Moore slips 5m from the open line near the posts and Kear comes across and makes the tackle.

Scott Moore poked and probed well while he was on, although late in the game he did turn into a Michael McIlorum wannabe with late shots and frustrated afters in the tackle.
