Emotional day at The Stoop, over 9000 there, Diana died in the morning (rumours game could be called off), Bradford top of the league and London in second place, Richard Branson on board (together with Offiah and Edwards on the pitch)and everything looking very positive.....

Yep, a crowd of 9,166 at this game. Leaving aside the dubious double header attendances I think our biggest home crowd in SL. Where did it all go wrong ?

Same as Dotti for me, Edinburgh was special also as Shaun Edwards had just rejoined us from the Bulls and it was his passion that night that drove the team. Also Tony Currie had a scottish wig/cap on that he kept taking off whenever Sky cameras were on him as the two idiots kept saying he was a miserable coach. Another was our 1st ever game at Brentford when we beat Leeds, it made the national news and the police saw Julian O'Neil kicking the winning goal and turned up at Oldham a few days later to arrest him as he had skipped the country when he had played for Widnes !

A second entry from me. The Valley v Halifax a long time ago (2001?)

A shocking season and we were in serious danger of relegation and potential financial oblivion. Fax turned up with us knowing a win would probably suffice. We were edging a nervy game with a handful of minutes to go. Fax broke down their right and we looked in real trouble. Suddenly John Timu stood up to be counted. Seconds later the Fax player and the ball were in row three of the stand. All 12 of our players mobbed John. The Fax players knew they were beaten. We saw time out comfortably and avoided relegation. A match memorable for one defining moment.

Freedom for supporters of the government, only for members of one party - however numerous they may be - is no freedom at all. freedom is always and exclusively for one who thinks differently.

A second bite of the cherry for me would be the infamous 'frozen' Cup tie against Halifax on 10 February 1985, after which our full back, Queenslander George Bryant, was treated for frostbite after the game! His temper wasn't improved by ringing home in Mackay to find that it had been over 100 F there and they'd spent the day on the beach to try to avoid the heat.

Beating Leeds at Headingley 25th February 2011 36-26. Flew out of the blocks, Luke Gale played a blinder. Kev Sinfields short drop out went awry Tony Clubb like a salmon plucked it out the air and steamrollered to the try line(another 5 metres and he would have been out of puff). Leeds came back, gave us a hell of a fright and even Karl Pryce had a half decent game.
It was one of the first outings for the pink kit leading to the "Gok Wan is our kit designer" chant. Also IIRC Keith Senior had a mare. Leeds fans great as ever were gracious afterwards. Damn I am gonna miss the games up North!!!!

Sarcasm helps keep you from telling people what you really think of them.
